Chapter 94: Seeing Them

They stepped out of the forest, following a path that had seen more than one merchant caravan pass through it. The drawbridge was up, and the moat was filled to the brim.

Marek smirked.

"I guess not everyone wants you as Caesar, eh?" The demon was patted on the back by the Nightshade.

"They must still need help." The two goblin nests were too close to this settlement for comfort.

The horns sounded the closer they came. Valentius didn't stop, as the barrier made it impossible to turn into a Naga, not even as the first arrow flew past his ear.

"I come in peace!" There was no turning back. He was the first in line. No matter how many people hated him for being a Nightshade, he still had to care for them.

He raised a hand. Standing tall as the archers aimed.

Marek and Albert flanking him.

"Go away, Naga!" Someone yelled from the ramparts. "We don't want your kind in here!"
