Women's Talk

Despite their distance, the five women who were cleaning themselves in the small pond could hear Eddie and Jason's fight.

"They're starting again, Nath." Leah said it with a chuckle.

Natasha nodded in agreement. "Eddie and Jordan are always like that every time they spar. They usually start off casual, but they get serious once they get heated and carried away in their spar."

"Their sparring times are different, Nath." Jessica turned toward the location of the three men. "Eddie was serious from the start, and Jordan was forced to follow him."

Natasha also turned toward that direction. "Over these years, Eddie was frustrated because he couldn't practice techniques with his cultivation stalled, so he always trained himself normally. Things have changed after his cultivation broke through, and he was eager to walk the true path of cultivation. However, I'm still worried about something, and I'm afraid he will stump once again."

"What do you mean by that, Nath?" Liana asked.

Natasha couldn't possibly tell anyone else about the system, including her sister. "If my guess is correct, there is something unusual inside Eddie's body, and it is preventing his cultivation from breaking through. Perhaps he needs much more energy than other cultivators, including us, to break through. That's why his cultivation couldn't break through for the past few years, and it only broke through after he absorbed the right amount of energy."

"You're right." Jessica nodded in agreement. "We have checked Eddie's condition too many times, but we have never found anything unusual in his body, and the results of the tests he underwent in the past were normal."

Natasha felt confused about explaining to them, especially since no cultivator on Earth knew about the special physiques. They couldn't even recognize her Yin Lunar Body, let alone Eddie's Primal Origin Physique. "Sister Jess, do you have someone you like?"

"Eh?" Jessica looked at Natasha with surprise. "Why did you suddenly ask that?"

"No particular reason." Natasha answered with a shake of her head. "Ever since you broke up with Jason Huang, I haven't seen you dating another man, so I'm curious about that."

Leah also asked. "Have you found a replacement for Jason, Jess?"

"No." Jessica denied it. "Ever since I broke up with him, I've been busier with my cultivation and the organization's affairs. Moreover, I haven't found a man who fits my criteria, and I enjoy my single life more, so I don't think too much about romance, let alone date another man."

Natasha remained silent, closely observing Jessica's face. The ripples in her eyes confirmed that her heart was not aligned with her response. 'I have to talk to her alone after we return from this place.'

Lean then asked Dea. "What about you? Do you have a lover in your country?"

"Nope." Dea answered with a shake of her head. "As I told you yesterday, I have to support my family, especially my brothers' school. Therefore, I don't have time to think about romance and the like, and I must work hard for them."

"Are there other cultivators in your family?" Liana asked Dea.

Dea nodded and explained. "My parents are cultivators, and they have joined several expeditions. However, my father was seriously injured on his last expedition, which caused his body to be uncontrollable. My mother had taken him for treatment in the branch organization in our country, but unfortunately, the cost was too high. We couldn't afford to pay for his treatment, so they treated him half-heartedly. Since then, he had to spend his time in a wheelchair, and he couldn't participate in expeditions anymore."

"Does your country not provide its residents with free health insurance?"

Dea wore a bitter expression after hearing Leah's question. "There are many insurance companies in our country, but they cannot cover medical expenses for cultivators like us. The government doesn't provide free health insurance like other countries, and we still have to pay for our life insurance. Although we have utilized it for my father's medical care, the entire cost cannot be covered. I want to collect a lot of money through expeditions, and I will take my father for treatment to another country."

"Eddie and I have been to Indonesia several times, but the most interesting city for us is Yogyakarta." Dea looked at Natasha in surprise. "We like their gudeg the most, and we eat it every day whenever we go there. The sweet taste of the jackfruit combined with the shredded chicken and spicy rambak makes it delicious."

"Haha." Dea chuckled. "Usually, foreigners prefer Bali for holidays, but you prefer Yogyakarta. Actually, I was born and grew up in that city, and my family still lives there today. Just like you, I like gudeg the most, and my mother is one of the many gudeg sellers there."

"Oh?" Natasha was surprised. "If Eddie and I go there again, I will definitely stop by your mother's gudeg restaurant to try it. By the way, how about we help you with your father's treatment? You can bring him to our country, and we will prepare the best doctors to cure his old injury."

"But—"

"Dea, my grandfather is one of the top officials of the organization in my country, remember?" Jessica spoke immediately. "The doctors available have excellent healing abilities; I'm sure they can cure your father's old injury. As for the treatment costs, you don't need to think about that, and my Chen family will cover everything."

Seeing Dea continue to hesitate, Leah took her hand. "I understand what you're thinking, but we are teammates. We might continue to be a team in the future, so let us help you, and you can explore many ruins without having to worry about your father's health."

"Thank you." Dea sincerely said.

By the time the five women returned to camp, the two men had finished their spar. Jordan and Richard rushed to take their turn to clean up, but Eddie didn't join them.

Eddie preferred to practice his sword technique because there were so many sub-techniques in it, and he hadn't mastered them all yet. Furthermore, his three spirits would drain his energy, so he couldn't keep relying on them to fight. In order to fight on his own, he needed the right techniques, so he wanted to master them as soon as possible.

Natasha and the other four women sat around the campfire and watched Eddie practice his sword technique, but they were shocked by a horizontal black energy that appeared after he slashed his sword, and it split several small trees in front of them.

Eddie suddenly jumped high, grabbed the hilt of his sword with both hands, and swung it down. Another black energy slashed downwards before hitting the ground, leaving a long, quite deep hole there.

Eddie then swung his sword in a circle, and a high-speed spinning sword attack that forms a crimson crescent shot forward, cutting a tree in front of him into several small pieces.

After that, Eddie placed the blade of his sword in front of his face and closed his eyes, and a vortex of sword energy materialized and surrounded his body.

Natasha, who saw this, took a small stone and immediately threw it at Eddie. To her surprise, the sword energy vortex struck the stone, shattering it into pieces. "That technique is a defensive one, formed by his sword energy."

"Yeah." Jessica nodded in agreement as she looked at Eddie with a proud smile on her face.

Liana, who was hugging her legs and propping her head on her knees, also looked at Eddie, and a sweet smile appeared on her face. 'I'm happy with your changes, Ed.'

"Is this really his first time learning sword techniques? How can he already use so many techniques?" Dea curiously asked.

"Haha." Natasha softly laughed. "Since childhood, Eddie has had good comprehension, and his imagination is also a bit unique, so you don't need to be surprised if he can learn many things quickly."

Eddie suddenly raised his sword, and sword energy materialized from it, making it look longer and larger. Once he was ready, he swung his sword sideways and slashed the area in front of him, causing the trees and rocks there to split in two.

Eddie sighed with relief as he withdrew his sword energy. "I think that's enough for now, and I'll train the other sub-techniques tomorrow."

Eddie then put away his sword and went to the small pond to clean his body.

Sometime later, all of them gathered at camp to rest, and they took turns on guard because the forest was filled with too many beasts.

Leah slept on her boyfriend's lap, but Jordan stayed awake and monitored the area around them. Dea and Liana leaned towards each other, and they were lost in a sweet dream.

Richard, Natasha, and Jessica guarded three different directions, ensuring that no beast would attack them while they were resting.

Eddie sat alone in another direction while reading the list of items in the [Shop], especially since he needed some other techniques for himself, and one of them was movement techniques. However, he was confused about deciding because all the techniques available there were excellent, so he chose to think things through first.

===

Aleena and her group continued their journey, and they were fortunate that Nicholas brought a device to light the way ahead of them. Additionally, he used a device to keep the beasts away from their location so they didn't encounter too many beasts.

Although her group members objected and wanted to rest, Aleena insisted on walking, especially since she was impatient to get to Eddie's location.

After some time, Nicholas spoke to Aleena. "Miss, our teammates are exhausted, so we should rest now. If something happens to them, we have to be responsible for their organization, especially since we are their leaders."

"All right." Aleena gave in and let them rest, but she appeared impatient while glancing south. 'Tch! I have to find Eddie and keep him by my side.'

Early in the morning, Eddie and the others were prepared to continue their adventure in the forest. He made the decision to continue eastward due to the presence of small ruins, which they wanted to investigate first.
