THE NIGHT STAND

David heard a scream coming from the girls' restroom nearby. He ran to investigate and saw a group of men harassing an innocent girl. Unable to stand by, David intervened and swiftly incapacitated the four men. He rushed to help the girl, Luna Lee, lying on the ground, asking if she was okay. As Luna slowly lifted her head, her vision blurred, and she spoke softly.

"Please... help me... I don't want to go with them."

"What? Who are they? And why do they hurting you?"

Luna couldn't help but close her eyes, feeling exhausted. David couldn't believe that the girl who had her head down on the table, and the girl George asked him to watch over, was his first ex-girlfriend.

Witnessing his ex-girlfriend in distress, David carried her outside the bar and placed her in his car, driving straight to his condo. He settled Luna in bed and tended to her wounds. Luna awoke, feeling pain from a wound on her neck. Their eyes met, but David's image remained blurry in her vision.

"Why were those guys hurting you? What's your connection to them?" he inquired.

"I don't know them. I don't know," Luna replied, struggling to remove her jacket.

Observing her condition, David stopped her, realizing the effects of the alcoholic drinks had disoriented her. Luna, unfamiliar with the man before her, gazed at him through her blurred vision. David, feeling uneasy, decided to let her rest. Before he could move, Luna suddenly grabbed his tie and kissed him. The kiss began gently but escalated in intensity, prompting a response from David.

Their embrace deepened, leading to intimacy between them. When Luna awoke the next morning, she found herself beside the man. Recalling the events of the previous night, she realized that the man beside her was her ex-boyfriend. David woke shortly after, finding Luna staring at him. A smile crossed his lips as he gently brushed her hair from her face.

Luna was shocked to see and comprehend the situation. She realized they had engaged in intimacy the night before, evident from her naked body. She couldn't believe it—she had been intimate with her ex-boyfriend. Absentmindedly, she rose from the bed, unable to explain. Despite their agreement to avoid each other after their breakup, they had reunited for a one-night stand. David recounted their encounter from the moment he saw her in the bar. Luna listened silently, overwhelmed.

"I know you're aware of what transpired between us, Luna," David stated.

Filled with regret, Luna found herself in a conflict with her ex-boyfriend. Unsure how to confront the memories of the previous night, she couldn't find the words to explain her actions. When David pressed her for an explanation, she hesitantly revealed the truth.

"My parents wanted me to marry the man they chose for me after our breakup. I don't like that guy, not even a little. Since then, I've felt trapped by their expectations. They want me to marry him to enhance their business's reputation, as Andrew's father is a prominent billionaire businessman in Sydney. That's why... I ran away and ended up at the bar last night."

"And who were those group of men hurting you last night?"

"I don't know them, David. I was just spending my time inside, but when I went outside, I found myself in a perilous situation. Those guys were pushing me to go with them. When I tried to escape, they ganged up on me. I don't know why. Since we broke up, I have found myself alone and trapped in different decisions. I'm trying to get away, but it seems like my feet are chained to them. I desperately want someone to help. But..."

"I never thought that you would break up with me that day, Luna. I keep asking myself where I fell short. I can't even forget about you."

"I'm sorry for letting you go. I realize that letting you go was a big mistake, even until today. I realize that I'm lost without you by my side. I wish I could turn back time so that we could go back to the past. No tears, no worries. Just supporting and loving each other..."

"You know how much I love you. And now...I still love you, Luna. I never expected that destiny would bring us back together."

Silence filled the room, broken only by the ringing of Luna's phone. Luna reached for her bag on the table to check the caller, quickly rejecting the call upon seeing it. When David inquired about the caller, Luna simply shook her head. The phone rang again, and before Luna could decline the call, David took the phone from her. The caller on the line was none other than Andrew Lucas, the man chosen for Luna.

"Who are you? Where is Luna? Why do you have her phone? Give her the phone," demanded Andrew as David answered the call. David turned to Luna before responding to Andrew's inquiries.

"We're here, spending time together. She's lying next to me. Luna will not marry you."

Both Luna and Andrew were taken aback by David's words. How could he claim they were together? Luna attempted to retrieve her phone, but David stopped her, instructing her to remain silent. A serious conversation ensued between Andrew, who insisted on their impending wedding, and David, who asserted that Luna would not marry Andrew.

"She's my fiancée, and we're getting married next week. Who are you, dude?" Andrew demanded.

"I'm just a man whom she loved deeply five years ago. Now, we've crossed paths and are spending time together again."

Andrew was shocked by David's revelation, realizing that the man on the call was David DvHulle, Luna's former boyfriend. The tension between Andrew and David escalated as they confronted each other.

"This is imposible. You two already broke up and now you both spending time together? I said give her the phone!" He shouted.

As Luna attempted to question David's actions, he drew her closer, comforting her and whispered, "I've already made a decision."
