"Let's go get a marriage certificate to help you escape from him," David suggested. Luna immediately pulled away upon hearing this.
"What do you want? Do you expect me to be your wife in exchange for your help?"
"Luna, I want to assist you. Let's obtain a marriage certificate to prevent your wedding. Regarding last night, I take responsibility for my actions. You don't love him, right? I have my reasons too. Even after our breakup, I still love you. Trying to forget you only reminds me of our sweet memories," David explained.
Luna turned away, noticing sincerity in David's eyes. The five years of loving this man were exhilarating, but their relationship had grown cold. She realized he still desired her. Feeling uncomfortable, she lay on the bed, unable to decide on his proposal. The choice was clear: marry David to prevent the wedding with Andrew or follow her parents' wishes and remain trapped forever. The weight of her decision loomed over her as she pondered.
"You have two options, Luna. Marry me to prevent your wedding or follow your parents' wishes and remain trapped. Think carefully," David stated before excusing himself, leaving Luna in contemplation.
Her life had been sweet with David, but now she felt trapped. She held her head, feeling numb, torn between her choices. Despite leaving her parents' house with her belongings, she remained on the bed, grappling with her decision.
"What should I do? If I don't get a marriage certificate with him, the wedding is still possible. I will be trapped forever, and nobody can help me get away. I will be facing several risks in the company because we are not united. He's the only one who loves me, and I do not love him. My life with him will be forever unhappy."
With only a week left, she needed to choose. Her phone rang, displaying her mom's call. Despite her disappointment, Luna answered, allowing her mom to speak, even if it meant enduring her mother's anger.
"What is this, Luna? Andrew informed us about your night with other men. Are you out of your mind? Your marriage is approaching, how could you do this? Have you considered the consequences if his parents find out? Andrew has made his decision to marry you, regardless of the circumstances," her mom scolded.
"I don't care if the company suffers, Mom. I can't marry him. I don't love him. You only want me to marry him for the company's gain since you, Dad, and his parents are invested in it. You've become so close that you arranged this marriage to enhance the company's reputation. Is that what you truly desire? Prioritizing the company without considering my feelings? I can't do it, Mom. You can manage the company without us. I'm sorry, but I refuse to marry Andrew Lucas. This is my choice. The arranged marriage is off. I've made my decision. Goodbye, Mom," Luna declared before ending the call, leaving her mom speechless.
Moments later, Andrew called, pleading for her to reconsider the wedding. Luna listened but remained resolute in her decision.
"I'm sorry, Andrew. I can't force myself to marry you. I can't continue this one-sided love. You love me, but I don't feel the same. I can't proceed with the wedding," Luna expressed.
"Luna, please wait. Our wedding is approaching, and our parents expect us to be married. I don't care about your past actions. Just don't call off the wedding," Andrew implored.
Unbeknownst to her, David overheard their conversation. David grabbed her phone before she could say goodbye.
"She's not yours. She's mine," said David, leaving Luna and Andrew surprised.
"What did you say? She's mine, and we will be getting married soon. Give her the phone. I want to talk to my Luna!" Andrew shouted furiously.
"Didn't you hear what I said? She's not yours. She's mine. She's not your Luna. She's my Luna."
"I said give her the phone! She's my Luna. She's not your Luna. Give her the phone! I want to talk to my Luna."
"Fine. I will give her the phone."
He handed her the phone and gestured for her to talk to that man. Luna, feeling exhausted and tired, picked up the phone.
"Luna, please don't let this happen. The company's reputation will be ruined if you don't marry me. Our parents' friendships will be ruined. Please, just marry me, and I will give you what you want. Just don't go with that man..."
"Sorry, Andrew. I cannot marry you. Goodbye," Luna firmly stated, ending the conversation.
Disheartened, Andrew resolved to take action. Luna retreated to the bathroom to compose herself, realizing her life would be meaningless if she followed their wishes. David remained out of sight as Luna contemplated her decision. She couldn't bear the thought of marrying a man she didn't love. Luna was torn between her two options, knowing that David would never abandon her if she chose to marry him. She found David in the living room, engrossed in business documents. Luna sat beside him, drawing his attention away from work.
"I've made my decision. I'm calling off the wedding. Let's get married before it's too late," Luna declared.
David pulled her closer, expressing his joy. Luna chose to give their relationship a second chance.
"I believe you can learn to love me again, Luna. I see it in your eyes," David assured her.
"I've made my decision. Let's start anew," Luna affirmed.
"Alright. Let's inform my parents afterward. They'll likely be surprised since they've been pushing me to reconcile with you since our breakup," David disclosed.
"I regret ending things that day. I've felt alone in love since then. Letting you go was a mistake. My parents arranged me with Andrew Lucas, and I sought your help, but I remembered we were over. I felt trapped, pushed to marry a man I don't love," Luna shared.
With two options before her, Luna chose to be with David to prevent the wedding. They left the condo immediately to obtain a civil marriage certificate.
