Luna and David finally obtained a civil marriage certificate after a short process. Emotions swirled within Luna as she held the certificate, knowing that marrying David made the wedding with Andrew impossible. David drove them to his condo, and when Luna asked when he would inform his parents about their marriage, he smiled sweetly and replied, "Later, once we're home."
As Luna's phone vibrated with her mom's call, David gestured for her to answer. A stern voice demanded that Luna return home before Andrew's family discovered her night with other men. Her mom pleaded with her not to ruin the wedding, but Luna stood firm in her decision.
"I don't want to marry him, Mom. Stop pressuring me to marry him for the company's image. The company gains popularity every year. Inform his family that the wedding is off. I have my husband now," Luna asserted.
"What did you say? You have a husband now? Are you disrespecting us and his family?" her mom retorted.
"I'm not disrespecting them, Mom! You're the one creating this conflict. I'm tired of these arrangements. I have my own family now, and the wedding won't happen. I'm fed up with your unreasonable choices," Luna explained before ending the call, leaving her mom upset.
The conversation was overheard by her dad, who shared in her disappointment. Luna sought solace, and David comforted her. After running away and marrying her ex-boyfriend, Luna felt exhausted and fell asleep upon returning home. David ensured she rested and left her in the care of his loyal maid. Upon waking, Luna found herself alone, dressed differently, and couldn't find David downstairs, causing her worry.
The maid explained that David had left her in her care and helped Luna change her clothes. Relieved, Luna blocked Andrew's calls to prevent further interruptions. While exploring the room, she found their marriage certificate on the table and safely stored it away. David returned before nightfall.
"Where were you? You've been gone for six hours," Luna inquired.
David held her hands and informed her that he had officially informed his parents of their relationship, to their delight. Luna felt relieved as David's parents accepted her. Later, Luna received a text from her mom requesting a meeting, but Luna preferred a phone call for clarity. Initially hesitant, her mom agreed to the call, and Luna learned that Andrew's family now knew the wedding was off due to Andrew's revelations. The Lucas Family urged Luna's parents to proceed with the marriage for the company's sake or risk losing investments.
Luna, exhausted and overwhelmed, expressed to her mom that she wouldn't marry Andrew as she was already married to David. She suggested that without the Lucas Family, they could invest elsewhere and operate smoothly. Her mom's reaction was harsh, filled with anger and disappointment. Before ending the call, her mom issued a warning without elaborating.
Feeling unsettled, Luna shared her concerns with David. He comforted her, encouraging her to focus on positivity and not dwell on her mom's warning.
"I believe your mom's warning is to lure you back for the wedding. If you pursue it, you may never return to me. It's best not to know the warning when you've made your decision to avoid the undesirable circumstances you don't want," David reassured Luna.
"You're right. Dealing with them only instills fear in me. I don't want to be pulled back into that situation. I want to live freely without being burdened by their controlling demands," Luna admitted.
David embraced her, offering comfort as she shed tears. Choosing him was the right decision to escape the trap set by her parents. The day after breaking up with him and then being arranged to marry another man had left Luna exhausted and terrified. Despite this, she knew David wanted her back to rebuild their relationship.
"Don't be sad. I'm here by your side. I will protect you no matter what happens. You are my Luna. I love you more than anything. Even if I were to lose you someday, you will always be my one and only Luna. Save your tears for another day and stay with me forever."
"I trusted you, David. When I ran away, I regretted it. I wish we could go back, and you could forgive me for all the cold things I've done. I'm trying to hold back my tears, but your image in my mind brings them out. I even once considered seeking your help, but it's too late for me to realize after letting you go. It's my fault that we couldn't stay together forever."
"Don't dwell on those sad memories from our past. We are here now. Destiny has brought us back together."
"But what should we do now? I know Andrew and my parents will never stop trying to bring me back to them. I'm afraid of what they might do to you."
"Stop worrying about me. Let them judge whether it's right or wrong. Always remember that I love you. He's not yours. You are mine. You are not his Luna. You are my Luna."
Luna, listening to his sincere words, was filled with emotion as she held her man. She knows they will face many risks tomorrow, and she must be prepared for that. Following her choice is the right thing to do, but the reasons behind why she ran away always linger to pull her back.
"Promise me that you will never leave me, no matter what. I don't want to cry again. I need you to hold me tonight. Promise me, David."
"You are the reason why I haven't found another girl, Luna. You are the only one in my heart. I will hold you, baby. Let's experience the world around us, but let's take it slow. There are no rules that can change us. We will face many risks tomorrow, but let's hold hands together to overcome them and find harmony. I promise you that, my baby."
"May we hold onto our faith and face the risks together. I love you, David."
His sweet kisses on her forehead show his respect and trustworthiness. Now that the wedding between her and Andrew is impossible, tomorrow will be filled with different things that they may face. What challenges await them?
