Chapter 29: How did I get home ?

Canary turned to face her. She noticed his handsomeness and blushed.

" ..I ..am..sorry young man. Do you need some help ?" She changed her tone and asked with a smile.

" Can you help me get her inside ?" Canary asked.

" Of course. " The woman said and went to them.

" She keeps her keys under the door mat." She said pulling it out and gave it to Canary.

" Thank you." Canary got it and opened the door.

After he carried Lisa inside.

The woman stayed there to prep.

" Who is that young handsome man. Could he be her boyfriend ?" She asked herself and went back to her room.

Canary carried Lisa to her and made her lie there. After he sighed deeply.

" You are heavy , Do you know that ?" He asked looking down at her.

On checking on his wrist watch it was getting to 11pm.

He turned to leave when he heard Lisa say.

" Dad… Mom..why did you both leave me in this cruel world?" She asked softly as if she was in a dream.

Canary turned to face her again and she looked so pitiful.

" Why did you leave me to suffer like this ?" She asked again.

Canary felt so touched by this and sat at the edge of the bed to face her well.

" Why ?" She muttered

He exhaled and decided to pick her blanket to cover her.

While he did this he got the urge to touch her face that looked so sad and slowly he moved his hands to her left cheek.

" Mom…" Lisa caught his hand immediately she felt his touch and cried again and slowly she opened her eyes but she could see in blurry.

" Mom..don't leave me !" She begged.

" Please .." She begged and released a tear.

Canary was traumatized by this condition she was in and he could feel her pain.

" I won't leave.." He said.

After hearing Lisa smiled and slept again. Canary finally got up and left.

He arrived home just the time Lucy and Ketra had arrived too. Lucy was so happy to see him once again.

The following morning, Canary got up so early , Had and a shower and dressed for work. He wore a grey suit and brown loafers with his golden watch.

No one was happy like Lucy seeing her son finally go as the new CEO of Andersons Group.

" Good Morning.." Lucy said.

" Good morning Mom.." He responded.

" Finally, This is the day." Lucy said with a big holding the sides of his shoulders.

" Mm.." Canary murmured.

" So this is Micheal.." Lucy introduced a young man who had been standing next to her.

Micheal smiled at Canary and made a low bow. He was young almost Canary's age and he put on a black suit.

" He's your new driver and Personal assistant." Lucy declared.

" Ooh, I thought Lisa was.."

" You didn't like Lisa. Besides, Now that she is a designer she won't have time for you. So… This is Micheal for you." Lucy explained.

" Okay , Thanks Mom. We shall leave then" Canary said and left with Micheal.

Lisa woke up the following morning to find herself in bed.

" My God, Why is my head so heavy .." She said getting up to put on her slippers.

She checked on her alarm clock only to find that it was already 10am.

She covered her mouth in disbelief. " I am late for work.." She shouted and hurried off the bed quickly to the brush her teeth and wash her face.

" What really happened yesterday?" She tried to remember while she brushed her teeth but all she could remember was going to the wash room after the drink.

How did I get home ?

After dressing up she left immediately without breakfast. She was just out when her neighbor came.

" Lisa, Good morning." The woman greeted.

" Good morning Ms Keller." She answered in hurry.

" Oh my , You are just going for work ?" Keller asked.

" I am so sorry Ms, I am late for work. I should go" Lisa hurried and left.

At Andersons Group..

Canary was already in the new office and he had much more work to do. He hadn't left the office because of that and he had a tight schedule that included meeting with the board of governors.

Lisa arrived at the company so embrassed to report at this time and she quietly went to sit on her seat.

" Lisa !" Jenny got up immediately after seeing her walk.

" Yes Team leader.." Lisa responded.

" You are late for work. Do you know that ?" Jenny asked.

" I am so sorry.. It won't happen again." Lisa spoke with a low bow trying to show Jenny some respect.

" Sorry ?" Jenny asked.

" Today you are going to clean this office !" Jenny declared and went back to sit.

" Aren't you being so hard on her ?" Richie asked Jenny in disbelief.

" I am not. I just dislike her for a reason I don't know." Jenny said.

" I really. I think you dislike her because you think she is cute." Richie joked.

" Don't disgust me. How can you call that ugly girl cute ?" Jenny asked.

" She is younger than most of us here. Besides, Yesterday she really looked so beautiful." Richie said.

" Hmm, I don't care. Good enough Canary hates her." Jenny muttered.

" Yeah, He may hate her. But feelings change." Richie reminded.

" What ?" Jenny couldn't believe this.

" Yeah, It happens." Richie said.

" I won't allow that to happen. Now that Camilla off the game. It's my turn." Jenny swore.

Lisa sat besides Nicky who gave her a smile and they begun work.

Canary only got free time at lunch time and when he left the office he just realized that Camilla was absent.

He turned to look at Micheal.

" Have you seen Secretary Camilla today ?" Canary asked.

" No sir.." Micheal answered.

This thought made him to go to the Designing Team only to see Lisa carrying a mopper.

" Hi.." When she heard his voice she turned to face.

" You…" She was going to talk nonsense until she remembered that he was now the CEO.

" I mean, Mr Anderson… Greetings.." She said.

She said with a low bow.

" What are you doing ?" He asked.

" I.." " She volunteered to clean our office." Jenny stepped forward before Lisa could answer so she kept quite.

" Really ?" Canary asked Lisa and didn't look at Jenny.

" Yeah.." Lisa answered and faked a smile.

Jenny went orver to Lisa and put her hand along Lisa's shoulder.

" Lisa is really a sweat girl. I am getting fond and of her." Jenny lied.

"Lisa ,Come to my office immediately after lunch !" Canary declared and walked away.

' He is calling her to his office ? For what ?'

Jenny asked herself immediately and watched with suspiciously.

" Didn't you hear ? Go and clean then you go to his office in time !" Jenny declared and left.

Lisa sighed and then went to clean. The rest had gone for lunch and yet she hadn't taken breakfast. She was so hungry but had no other choice.

She went inside and begun cleaning slowly. She was there where Nicky came back from Lunch and found her cleaning.

" Lisa, Why are you cleaning now ? Everyone has gone for lunch." Nicky said.

" Ms Jenny told me to clean now. I didn't have another choice." Lisa answered solemnly.

" Hmm, You must be hungry. Let me help you so that you finish early and go for lunch." Nicky said and got the other mopper.

Lisa smiled watching Nicky like this.
