Chapter 51; We can’t be his type

Lisa dried her tears not believing what she had just done.

' You won't understand. The more you be nicer to me is more I fall In love with you. And yet I can't have you. So please…let me just watch you from a distance.'

She said in her mind as she watched him away until he disappeared from her sight.

Canary was just into the office when the phone rung and she was Lucy calling.

" Your father is the hospital !" Lucy said from the call.

Later Lisa went to washroom and tried to dry off the food stains from her clothes.

She was still crying slowly while she looked at her reflection from the mirror.

She was there when Nicky came with a dress in her hands.

" Lisa, I managed to get this for you." Nicky said.

" Thank you." She responded in a soft murmur.

" Where did Canary take you back then, I looked for you everywhere." Said Nicky.

" He just wanted to get me out of place." Answered Lisa.

" On my, I envy you. Canary is too good to be real. If I were you I would be in love with him already." Nicky blubbered.

Lisa gave a short chuckle. " Don't even dream of that. We can't be his type." Lisa said.

" Hmm, I remember last time you said that he isn't your type. Now you are actually realizing that you are the one who isn't his type ?" Nicky asked which was true.

At first Lisa hated Canary so much that she never expected that she could fall in love with him.

" Nicky, Let me get changed first." Lisa said and entered one of the rooms.

Canary rushed to the hospital after getting the news about his father.

Good enough Alex had not been badly injured except a few bruises he got from the fall and the doctors said he will be fine once he wakes up.

Canary found Lucy in the VIP room where he had been transferred to after the operation.she sat watching Alex helplessly.

" Mom.." He called.

" Son.." Lucy called and went to hug Canary.

" What happened to Dad this time round ?" Canary asked.

" No one knows how it happened. The wheelchair moved itself and threw him at the staircase." Lucy cried.

" Wasn't there anyone with him ?" Canary asked.

" I was having a walk then I went to pick a call." She explained.

" Okay Mom. Don't worry. Dad will be okay.." Canary assured.

Lucy nodded with hopes.

On the bed where Alex laid, He begun having dreams of him driving a car and getting hit by a truck.

While he had these weird dreams his body moved as if he were being bothered by something.

" Father, Husband…" Both Canary and Lucy called and moved closer to him to check if he was fine.

His eyes were still shut and his body was still helpless.

Still in his dream, Alex saw Joel laughing at him saying.

" Hahaha, How couldn't you know that I was behind all this. Have you forgot what you and my sister did to me ?" Joel was asked.

In the moment Alexander was having those visions he suddenly opened his eyes with a heavy breath.

" Canary, He's awake !" Lucy reported to Canary immediately with a big smile of relief.

" Father, You are awake ?" Canary asked.

Alex looked at both of them and then made a low nod.

" Yes, He's back.." Lucy smiled.

They were still jubilating when Joel entered the room.

" Sister, How is he ?" Joel asked showing concern.

" He's now awake." Lucy said.

" I'm so sorry I got the news late. Can I please greet him ?" Joel asked.

" Sure.." Lucy said and moved away to give him space.

" Good evening my dear brother in.law. Are you feeling good now ?" Joel asked making his face so innocent.

As soon as Alex's eyes were set on Joel his body begun shaking in panic.

" Father, Are you okay ?" Canary who noticed it first.

" ..I.i…ah…ah,,," Alex tried to speak but nothing came out.

" Dear, What's wrong. Don't force yourself to speak." He said.

Alexander tried to move his hand to point at Joel but only Canary noticed it and while his hand Ppinted to Joel's direction Alex shook his head helplessly in disagreement.

" What does this mean, Why is Father afraid to see Uncle ?" Canary questioned himself.

He kept silent after realizing something.

Joel was a little shaken by Alex's behavior so he slowly moved away.

" Sis, I think we should call a doctor to check him." He said.

Joel excused himself after this and Canary remained with Lucy as the doctor checked Alex again.

While the doctor checked Alex his mind went back to two months ago before the accident.

Three Months ago…

Alexander was very fine and kicking as he did his work in his office. He was the full CEO and President of Anderson Group and that day was he was checking through the company performance when he noticed some missing and tampered records.

He knew that something was going on and followed up all the files only to realize that there was some embezzlement of money going on in the company.

When he did more research and follow up he found out the three shareholders Mr Miles, Mr Williams and Mrs Daniels and a few admins were involved in the embezzlement of money.

He first kept it silent to get more proof and put his driver who was called Mark to keep an eye on them.

Mark at the end found out that these three shareholders and admins were actually working under Joel's orders.

Unfortunately while Mark was making a call to tell Alexander everything one of the guards of the Shareholders saw him and when Mark saw the guard he immediately picked his phone and he walked away and made a call to Alexander.

It was at around 8pm almost quitting time and it was already dark outside.

Alexander who was still in the office that evening picked the call.

" Sir, It's Joel Rivers under everything.," Mark had just declared on the call when he got shot from the back.

Alex heard the sound from the call and got startled.

" Mark, Are you okay ?" Alex asked in panic with a feeling that something must have happened to Mark.

Mark had fallen to the ground immediately after being shot and went silent.

The guard who had just shot came with another guard and Joel after them.

" Is he still alive ?" Joel asked.

" Yes Mr Rivers.." The guard answered.

As Joel was looking he saw and noticed that the phone was on. He slowly picked it to find that it was Alex on whom Mark had saved as Mr Andersons.

On seeing the call Joel knew that Alex must be knowing everything already.

" Long time Dear brother.," Joel stated on the call.

Alex was more shocked to hear this.

" ….J..j..Joel.." He called in a shaky voice that his breathing quickened, shallow gasps filling the silence around him.

" Hahaha…" Joel laughed wickedly.

" I am surprised that you still remember my voice after all these years." He said.

Alex felt like he was on fire, his body trembling as if the fear itself were something solid that he was struggling to hold back.

" What have you done to my man ?" Alex asked angrily.

" Track this call and get his location" Joel whispered to the guards and then talked on the phone again.

" Dont worry he's already in heaven." Joel said.
