Chapter 301 A Tangled Web of Loyalties

Seeing Eleanor re-enter the room, Robert waved her over, his gaze softening. "Come here."

Eleanor’s face betrayed the frustration still simmering inside her. She wasn’t in the best of moods. But when she saw Robert lying there, vulnerable, she couldn’t help herself. She walked over and asked coolly, "What’s wrong?"

To her surprise, Robert reached out and pulled her closer. Caught off guard, Eleanor leaned back against the edge of the bed, his handsome face mere inches from hers.

"You..." Eleanor’s eyes widened slightly, momentarily at a loss for words.

"Eleanor," Robert murmured, his lips curving into a faint, enigmatic smile. "My injuries haven’t healed yet. I might need your help in the coming days."

His words took her aback. Seeing the smile playing on his lips, her heart softened despite herself.

"You... stop moving," she commanded, her tone firm yet tinged with concern. "It’s not helping your recovery."
