The ultimate suffering

Chapter 6: The Ultimate Suffering

Ava woke up feeling both excited and absolutely terrified.

It was her first day of university, and she had no idea what to expect.

Would she make friends? Would she embarrass herself? Would she even survive?

One thing was certain—she had no clue where anything was.

But that wasn't going to stop her.

She got dressed.

She wanted to look "cool and confident."

But what did that mean?

In Ava's mind: All black. Baggy hoodie. Baggy trousers. A proper school backpack instead of a handbag. Serious student mode.

Reality: She looked like she was about to break into someone's house.

It wasn't until she stepped outside that she realized her greatest mistake.

The heat.

The merciless, unforgiving sun.

30 minutes into her journey, Ava was already regretting her life choices.

Her hoodie felt like a personal microwave.

Her backpack straps were digging into her shoulders.

And her entire body was begging for air.

But on the bright side—finding the school wasn't that hard.

Almost everyone was heading in the same direction, so she simply followed the crowd. Like a lost sheep.

Her real problem started when she actually got to school.

She needed to find her faculty.

She needed to find her department.

She needed to find her class.

But there was just one issue—Ava had the worst memory ever.

She kept asking for directions.

She kept forgetting the directions.

She kept asking again.

She kept getting even more confused.

At some point, she walked past the same statue three times.

It was a disaster.

By the time she finally—FINALLY—found her faculty, she was sweating like a goat.

And then she got the biggest shock of the day.

"Oh, morning and afternoon classes are online. You only have to come to school from 3 PM to 5 PM."

Ava blinked.

"Excuse me?"

So all the suffering? The walking? The stress? For nothing???

She stared at the person who gave her the information. She wanted to cry.

And at that moment, she made the easiest decision of her life—SHE WAS GOING BACK HOME.

Or at least, that was the plan.

She stepped out of the faculty, ready to go back…only to realize something horrifying.

She didn't know the way back home.

Her brain, completely fried from the heat, had deleted every memory of how she got here.

She was lost.

Ava stood in the middle of campus, staring at the endless buildings, tired, confused, and one second away from tears.

She just wanted to go home.
