Dracula was a conceited man, and dropping that poor guy at his door would be a good way to humiliate him.
Dracula would be fuming, but he couldn't come after Eldwin to get even, so he would take it out on the poor guy.
There was only one possible ending for that poor guy. He would be tortured to death by Dracula.
'Eldwin...''You are a devil!'
Sanders looked out the window at the night sky. His face looked calm, but his heart was not. Eldwin was the most devious man he had ever seen. He always had ways to make people suffer without getting his hands dirty.
Sanders was abandoned by the mercenary when he was a teenager and then got rescued by Eldwin.
Although Eldwin was capricious and several years younger than him, it was undeniable that Eldwin was a good leader, a good friend, and a good man.
Over these years, Eldwin had secretly funded countless orphanages and nursing homes.
What's more, he had risked his life to save his subordinates in the gun battles many times.
On one side, he was cruel and merciless, but on the other side, he was a kind philanthropist. He was both kind and evil.
What a contradictory man! Looking at the skin on the table, Andy was not afraid at all. He picked up the skin and hummed away. Eldwin smiled helplessly.
The smile had reached his eyes, which indicated that he was not taking it. Sanders patted Eldwin's shoulder with understanding and said, "Give him more time, and he will grow up sooner or later."
Eldwin's face had turned cold as usual. In fact, he had made up his mind. If Andy couldn't be mature enough, he would have to send Andy away sooner or later. Because Andy was really easy to get killed.
Sanders knew it, too. If Eldwin hadn't been giving Andy special care, he wouldn't have made it to twenty-eight.
"Sanders, you guys can take the boat and leave. I will... Before Eldwin could finish, some noise came from the outside.
Andy, who had just left the yacht a few seconds ago, came back.
"There are a lot of police officers outside!"
Eldwin stood up with a calm face. He knew the police would come. After all, they had made such a mess on the sea, and it would be weird if they didn't come.
He put on his noble hat and replaced his cold look with a friendly smile. "Let's go out and meet them." Seeing this, Andy and Sanders exchanged glances.
Both of them were thinking, 'It took no more than a second for this man to adjust his facial expression!'
'
Am I dead again?' 'Or Am I in a dream?'
Ruby held whatever next to her, feeling scared. She was afraid that her rebirth was just a dream and that her parents and friends were not real. She was afraid that after opening her eyes, she would see the fat man and Travon's cold face.
Her body was falling slowly as if she had fallen off a cliff, but she never reached the bottom. The only thing she could grasp was the soft thing in her hand. She pressed the soft thing against her chest, trying to make herself feel secure.
"Ruby, Ruby, did you have a nightmare?" A woman's worried voice sounded. It was Ada's voice. Ruby saw a glimmer of light while falling in her dream. The light was so dazzling that she couldn't open her eyes. It took her a long time to adjust.
When she opened her eyes finally, she saw Ada frowning in anxiety. When Ada saw Ruby open her eyes, she cried out with joy, "Ruby, you're awake! You have no idea how much I was worried about you."
"Where am I? A hospital?" Ruby
looked around and then shook her head, saying, "It's not a hospital, is it?"
The decoration and the layout of this place didn't look like a hospital at all. Ada said in surprise, "You hadn't been to Travon's house before? This is his bedroom!"
Hearing this, Ruby involuntarily looked around again and put on a self-mockery smile. Indeed, this was the first time that she had been here. In her previous life, she had never been to Travon's house even though they had got married.
It was not that she didn't want to visit there, but every time she suggested going to his place, Travon would refuse with all kinds of excuses. At the time, Ruby didn't find anything suspicious, thinking that Travon didn't want her to come here because his too messy or some of his relatives were temporarily living here.
Now come to think of it, Travon didn't dare to take her to his place because there were too many secrets he was hiding. But...Why was she in Travon's place now?
"Ada, why did you bring me here?" Ruby said weakly in a low voice. Even though Ada usually spoke loudly, facing her delicate friend, she lowered her voice and said,
"The doctor said that you fainted because your internal organs were all damaged. After some infusion, the doctor suggested that you go home and have a rest."
"I wanted to take you home, but Travon said if your parents saw you unconscious, they would be worried. He brought you here so that he can take care of you."
Ada added, "Ruby, I know you're not quite strong, but you've always been healthy. How did your internal organs get damaged?"
This kind of injury usually happened after a huge impact on the body. Ada figured that something might have happened to Ruby.
The first thing that popped into Ruby's mind was her rebirth, but she had to keep that to
herself. She made up something and said, "I don't know. Maybe it happened when I fell off the bed."
Ada didn't think that was the case.
But she didn't force Ruby to give her a reasonable explanation. She helped Ruby sit up and fetched the bowl on the bedside table. After making sure it wasn't too hot, she handed it to Ruby.
"Ruby, this is the tonic soup Travon prepared for you. Drink it!" Ruby took the bowl but didn't drink it. She looked down at the soup in the bowl and smelled it, her face turning gloomy. 'Is it safe to drink something Travon gave her?'
Even if the soup was not poisonous, she lost her appetite at the thought that this thing was from Travon. Seeing Ruby holding the bowl in a daze, Ada asked with confusion, "Ruby, Travon is a nice guy. What's all that about today?"
Ruby put the bowl aside and curled up. Travon had been doing such a good job in hiding his true nature, so no one would believe that he was a heinous man. Everyone thought he was a good man, but Ruby saw him as an enemy.
