Some fans who suspected I was being held captive now fully believed that I was indeed seriously injured and still undergoing treatment.
Callie had become my savior, sticking by me without fail, leaving me no room to object.
When she returned in the evening, I decided to take the initiative.
"Tomorrow, I plan to go back to the team and check things out. Will you come with me?"
Knowing she couldn't dissuade me anymore, she agreed to accompany me.
When we arrived at the company, people avoided eye contact with me.
"Blaine, why are you back so soon? We have a main lineup now, don't rush to rejoin the team."
Seeing several of the new talents I had personally trained helping him cover up, my heart sank.
This Zoran was formidable. In just a few days of my absence, he had thoroughly taken control of the entire company.
Sitting in my former place of honor, I asked sternly,
"Where's Zoran? What's his punishment? Why wasn't I notified?"
The coach leaned in with a grin on his face.
"He was fired, of course. Don't worry, you're our cash cow. How could we not side with you? Since you're here today, how about we celebrate your return?"
The coach called out to the team members about my return, bringing out a bunch of booze and meat.Among the crowd, who else could that person be smirking at me from under a baseball cap if not Zoran?
He was making a show of force, testing to see if I had any way to drive these people away.
Everyone was toasting me, trying to get me drunk.
Seeing that Callie wasn't around, I took the opportunity to use the restroom as an excuse and snuck into the changing room.
There, I had left an old phone. I dialed a number and quickly gave an instruction.
"Come pick me up in three days."
As I hung up, I heard some rustling sounds in the changing room.
I decided to hide behind a pillar and listen.
"I've missed you so much, baby. It must be hard for you, spending every day with that ugly freak."
It was Zoran speaking, his hands moving non-stop, attempting to pull off Callie's clothes.
Callie's movements showed some resistance, but not much.
Her head was lowered, exposing her snow-white neck to Zoran.
"It's okay, as long as you can achieve your dream."
I gripped the locker beside me, resisting the urge to rush out and knock him unconscious, as I listened to their passionate interaction.
"Just wait a little longer. Once I secure my position in the company, you can leave that guy. It's a good thing we got that letter of understanding."
Callie, feeling somewhat guilty, gave Zoran a gentle push."You fast, I'm afraid of being exposed. Blaine is pitiful enough, just stop when you get the head position."
Zoran, unsatisfied, bit her ear hard.
"What, you've fallen for that ugly dude? Feeling sorry for him?"
"Easy, don't leave any marks."
Unfortunately, he didn't listen to her at all, selfishly leaving various traces on her body.
He even violently squeezed and pinched Callie, causing her to cry out in pain, showing no mercy.
I deliberately made a noise. Zoran froze, quickly hiding behind the closet.
Callie adjusted her collar and came over to check.
The moment she saw me, she was so scared her mouth gaped open, unable to utter a word of explanation.
I just smiled, comforting her.
"I came to use the bathroom. They've had too much to drink. Let's go back."
For several days in a row, Callie stuck to me like glue.
She took care of me with extreme caution.
I knew she was trying to figure out if I had heard anything that day.
She isolated me from the outside, fearing I might escape.
But as the engagement day approached and the dress hadn't been chosen yet, she had to go out.
To put her at ease, I volunteered to go with her.
She hesitated for a moment but still refused.
