🌼 Prologue 🌼
Emily's eyes fluttered open, and she was met with the harsh glare of the sun. She winced, raising a hand to shield her eyes. As she sat up, she realized she was lying on a cold, hard surface. She looked around, taking in her surroundings.
She was in a street, surrounded by tall buildings and bustling with people. But Emily had no idea how she got there or who she was. She looked down at herself and saw that she was wearing a simple white dress, and her feet were bare.
Panic set in as Emily scrambled to her feet. She had no memory of her past, no idea who she was or where she came from. She looked around frantically, hoping to find some clue, but everything seemed foreign.
As she stood there, a passerby bumped into her, and Emily stumbled backwards. She caught herself just in time, but her eyes widened as she saw a glimpse of herself in a store window reflection.
She was a beautiful young woman with long, curly brown hair and piercing green eyes. But who was she?
As Emily stood there, trying to make sense of her surroundings, she didn't notice the car speeding down the street. The driver, distracted by his phone, didn't see Emily until it was too late.
The car hit Emily with a loud thud, sending her flying onto the hood. She rolled off the car and landed on the pavement, dazed and disoriented.
The driver, horrified by what he had done, jumped out of the car and rushed to Emily's side. He called 911, and soon the paramedics arrived, rushing Emily to the hospital.
At the hospital, Emily was taken to the emergency room, where a team of doctors and nurses worked to stabilize her condition. She had suffered a severe head injury, as well as several broken bones.
As Emily lay in the hospital bed, she slowly began to regain consciousness. She was groggy and disoriented, but as she looked around the hospital room, she saw a figure standing by the window.
It was a young man, tall and handsome, with piercing blue eyes and chiseled features. He was dressed in a tailored suit, and a gold watch glinted on his wrist.
"Who are you?" Emily whispered, trying to speak.
The young man turned to her, a look of concern on his face. "My name is Alexander," he said. "I'm the one who...who hit you with my car."
Emily's eyes widened in shock, but Alexander quickly continued. "I'm so sorry, I was distracted, and I didn't see you. I'll do anything to make it right."
Emily looked at Alexander, unsure of what to make of him. He seemed genuinely remorseful, but she couldn't shake off the feeling that there was more to him than met the eye.
As Emily laid there trying to process everything that had happened, Alexander reached out and took her hand. "you are safe now, he said. I will take care of you. "
Emily felt a spark of electricity through her body at Alexander touch. She didn't know what to make of it, but she couldn't deny the attraction she felt towards him.
As days passed, Emily found herself growing more and more dependent on Alexander. He visted her everyday, bringing her flowers and books, and talking to her for hours.
Emily couldn't help but feel drawn close to Alexander charm and charisma. But as she got to know him better, she began to realize that there was more to him than met in the eye.
Alexander was rich and powerful, with a wealthy family and successful business. But he was also guarded and secretive, with a past that he seemed determined to keep hidden.
As Emily recovered from her injuries, Alexander came to visit and he asked about her and were she was from. Emily not being able to remember anything said. " Isabel. "
Alexander's eyes widened in surprise. "Isabel?" he repeated. "You're telling me your name is Isabel, and you live in an orphanage?"
Isabel nodded, feeling a sense of uncertainty. "I...I think so," she stammered. "I don't really remember much. The accident...it must have shocked me or something."
Alexander's expression softened, and he reached out to take Isabel's hand. "Don't worry, Isabel," he said gently. "You're safe now. You can stay with me until you get your memories back."
Isabel's eyes widened in surprise. "Stay with you?" she repeated. "But...but I don't even know you!"
Alexander smiled. "I know it sounds strange, but I assure you, my intentions are pure. You need a place to stay, and I have a big house with plenty of room. It's the least I can do after what happened."
Isabel hesitated, unsure of what to do. But as she looked into Alexander's eyes, she saw something there that made her trust him. Maybe it was the kindness in his expression, or the genuine concern in his voice. Whatever it was, Isabel felt a sense of safety with Alexander that she couldn't explain.
"Okay," she said finally, nodding her head. "I'll stay with you. But just until I get my memories back," she added quickly.
Alexander smiled, relief written all over his face. "I promise," he said. "Just until you get your memories back. And then...well, we'll see what happens then."
Isabel felt a shiver run down her spine as Alexander's eyes locked onto hers. There was something in his gaze that made her feel like he could see through her. And yet, despite the unease that settled in her stomach, Isabel couldn't help but feel drawn to him.
Isabel accepted Alexander's offer and moved into his luxurious mansion. As she settled into her new surroundings, she couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. Everything about the house seemed too perfect, too polished.
Despite her reservations, Isabel was grateful for Alexander's kindness. He took care of her every need, nursing her back to health and helping her regain her strength.
As the days passed, Isabel found herself growing more and more comfortable in Alexander's presence. She began to enjoy his company, and even found herself looking forward to their conversations.
But despite the growing sense of comfort, Isabel couldn't shake off the feeling that she was living in a dream world. She had no memories of her past, no idea who she was or where she came from. And Alexander, for all his kindness, seemed to be hiding secrets of his own.
As the days turned into weeks, Alexander found himself growing more and more attached to Isabel. He couldn't explain why, but there was something about her that drew him in.
At first, he had thought it was just guilt over the accident, but as he got to know Isabel better, he realized it was more than that. He loved the way she smiled, the way her eyes sparkled when she laughed.
Alexander tried to brush off his feelings, telling himself he was being ridiculous. Isabel was still recovering from her injuries, and she didn't need him complicating her life.
But as he watched her sleep, her dark hair spread out across the pillow, he couldn't help but feel a pang of desire. He wanted to be the one to protect her, to take care of her.
As he stood there, frozen in the doorway, Alexander realized that he was in trouble. He was falling for Isabel, hard. And he had no idea how to stop it.
As Alexander turned to leave, Isabel was walking towards the doorway, lost in thought. They collided, and Alexander's arms instinctively wrapped around Isabel to steady her. But it was too late. They both lost their balance and fell to the floor.
In the chaos of the moment, their lips met in a soft, gentle kiss. It was as if time had stopped, and all that existed was the two of them, lost in the sensation of their lips touching.
But as soon as their lips parted, Isabel's expression changed. Her eyes widened, and her face went pale. She looked like she had seen a ghost.
Alexander was confused. "Isabel, what's wrong?" he asked, trying to help her up.
But Isabel just shook her head. She looked cold, distant. "I remember," she whispered. "I remember everything."
Alexander's eyes narrowed. "What do you mean?" he asked, but Isabel just turned and walked away, leaving him feeling confused and concerned.
