Who Can I Call a Human?

By Biplob Kabiraz

He who constantly seeks self-interest,How will he understand the meaning of humanity? How can I call him a human,When in wisdom, I lose my senses.

In the depths of his chest, there is no compassion,Behind his emotions, a cruel shadow. He who loves only himself,His heart seems bound in stone.

In his eyes, only his own dreams,Never a shiver for another's pain. What is affection, what is attachment? In his heart, only the shadow of illusion.

How can I call him a human? In selfishness, he is lost.A shadowed soul, devoid of humanity,He walks in darkness, in a place of lightless space.

Where can a selfless heart be found,When he seeks only his own affection? He sees only faults in others,In his wisdom, I lose my senses.

He doesn't see the flood of anyone's tears,He doesn't hear the silent agony of pain.Under his feet, countless hopes are crushed,Yet in others' suffering, he remains indifferent.

In cruelty, he plays a ruthless game,But never a moment of compassion comes his way.Should I call him a human, or an animal?Where there is no love in his heart, only disdain.

How can I call him a human,Who doesn't know love, nor gives happiness? He never walks the path of selflessness,His heart is only filled with deep selfishness.

Is he a human, or just a shadow,A soulless form with an emotionless heart?"Who can I call a human?" The question remains,Where is humanity? It will only be a mirage.

A human is one who brings joy to others,Who bows his head in the face of pain.Above selfishness, he serves with love,That is a human, that is true dignity.

In a heart where kindness and compassion reside,In the bond of emotions, love is nurtured.I will call him the soul of all,In selfless love, eternal respect is earned.

A human is one who understands another's tears,Who brings the flow of love to the soul's fears.I call him a gift of humanity,Otherwise, he is not human, just a mockery.
