Neglect

By Biplob Kabiraz

I give my heart, pouring it all out,Yet love remains distant, far from my route.I reach my hand out to everyone,But why do I lose myself, always on the run?

I smile, hiding my pain deep inside,Embracing others' grief, letting mine slide. All I seek is a little affection, a touch of grace,But all I receive is empty recognition, a cold embrace.

Even a loved one turns away their gaze,In words, a downpour of contempt, a dark haze.Still, I carry love like a merchant of hope,Lighting a flame even in the face of neglect's slope.

In resentment, the night cries alone,The sky too, seems to not understand my heart's tone.In silence, I hear the storm's cruel tune,Life, it feels, is only dust under the moon.

Maybe one day, they'll all come to see,The value of love, and offer it to me.But by then, at the end of the road,I may have already faded, lost in the world's abode…

Still, within my heart, I will keep the light,Even amidst neglect, I'll love with all my might!
