Love Also Dies

By Biplob Kabiraz

I thought love was immortal,Could it ever truly die?But then I saw you leave,Never returning, without a why.

What fault did love have,Or was there pain that it bore?In days without you, the sun rises bright,But warmth and affection are no more.

You were the song of my heart,That melody has now ceased,Your memory floats in the air,Binding my chest in pain, at least.

Love also dies, I have seen it,Shrouded in the mist of anger,The way you left it all behind,Love turned into a hollow stranger.

Now, though I live, I die within,Covered by the shadow of your memory,I once thought it a lie—Love never dies, it's eternal, you see!

But look now, it too can fade,If the heart holds no hope or grace,If love's name is carried on,Only by broken words from a past erased.
