Chapter 8

James ascended the stage alone, clutching my urn tightly in his hands.

His gaze was tender and passionate as he took each step slowly, ever so slowly.

With every step, he paused and whispered softly, "Melody, stay close to me, don't get lost."

The guests watching this scene couldn't hold back their tears.

James stood on stage, his face beaming with a joyful smile.

That smile held a touch of contentment and satisfaction.

He spoke softly to the urn, "Melody, you see, I still managed to marry you."

"I've been preparing for this wedding for a long time. I know you'll love it. From now on, we'll be together forever."

"If we meet again in the afterlife, you must find me, okay?"

"No," I shouted from above.

But no one could hear my words.

When I was alive, James ignored me time and time again.

Even though I had a heart full of love for him, it was worn away bit by bit.

James, I don't want to love you anymore.

Please, just let me go.
