Reflection

Alaric's POV :

The world was a frozen tableau,

What's going on , a silent symphony of shimmering threads and distorted realities.

Time held no meaning, I can't move my body.

I was suspended, a prisoner in my own mind, my thoughts echoing in the vast emptiness.

I could see them, Kai, the Clockmaker's Daughter, and some girl they are travelling with.

their forms frozen in my perception, their expressions etched in a moment of triumph and concern.

Are they arguing?, I could hear their voices, faint echoes in the silence, their words bouncing off the frozen walls of my own reality.

Should we leave him like that?

He gave us no choice, he's too dangerous to be to be left free!.

But he warned us , He.....he warned us about something in there...

I tried to reach them, to break through the frozen barrier that separated us, but my efforts were futile.

Is this it , THE END?, I was trapped, a ghost in my own existence.

My mind drifted, caught in a swirling vortex of memories. I saw my wife, her laughter echoing in the halls of our home. I saw my son, his bright eyes filled with wonder.

I saw the moment they were taken, the temporal anomaly tearing them from my grasp, leaving me alone in a cold, empty world.

The grief was a constant ache, a burning emptiness that consumed me.

It was this grief that drove me, that fueled my obsession. Where did I go wrong? I had to change the past to bring them back, I had to fix what was broken.

But I was wrong. I was blinded by my grief, manipulated by something far more powerful than I could have imagined.

It whispered promises of reunion, of redemption. It fed on my desperation, using me as a pawn in its own twisted game.

I saw glimpses of its true form, a shadowy entity lurking in the depths of the Forgotten Timeline. It was ancient, powerful, and hungry.

It craved the chaos of broken realities, the energy of lost timelines.

It was trying to break free, to unleash its chaos upon the Weave.

And I, in my blind pursuit of happiness, had almost given it what it wanted.

I saw Kai's face, his eyes filled with a mixture of pity and resolve. He was right. I had gone too far. I had betrayed everything I once believed in.

I wanted to tell him I was sorry. I wanted to warn him again, to make him understand the true danger that lurked within the Forgotten Timeline.

But my voice was lost in the silence, my words trapped in the frozen echo of my own existence.

I could only watch, helpless, as they turned to face the swirling vortex, their forms disappearing into the chaotic depths of the Forgotten Timeline.

Don't go in there, Kai, I thought, my voice echoing in the emptiness. It's not safe. They will consume all.

The silence was deafening, the emptiness overwhelming. I was alone, trapped in a frozen moment, perhaps this is how it's supposed to end.
