The battle starts. Shona shoots off on his feet, quickly shortening the distance between us. He was fast, so I put up my guard. Shona gets close and punches my arms that were guarding me.
But his punch was so powerful that it broke my guard, leaving me wide open. Shona took this small chance and landed a kick to my midsection sending me flying back down the hall, landing with a hard crash.
"Suika!" Ryusei shouted.
But by yelling out my name Ryusei wasn't focused and Shona punched him right in the face, sending him back to where I am. Shona blows his fist off and looks at us with a grin.
"Is this really all you got? And I thought you two might be worth something."
I stand back up slowly, holding my stomach. I look to my left and see Ryusei also getting back up, rubbing the side of his face that he got punched at. I just smirk at Shona words.
"Don't count us out yet Shona!"
"I don't know Suika, kinda not feeling it you know."
"...Ryusei I would kill you myself if you don't lock in."
"Fine, fine, fine. Let's do this Suika."
Ryusei and I both launch at Shona with our fist. Our fists connect with Shona but he catches my fist and blocks Ryusei's with his forearm.
He throws us off of him and we both land back on the floor. I gather magical energy within my hand, and launch 5 Twilight Arrows at him.
Shona quickly dodges and parries the arrows and launches straight at me. Before he got to me Ryusei kicked him in the side, sending him into the wall.
Ryusei quickly gathered his Ice magic within his hand. Creating an ice block fist, he launched the attack but Shona ducks under the punch and uppercuts Ryusei.
While Ryusei is still in the air, Shona grabs his leg and spins him around then throws him at me. I opened my arms to catch Ryusei, but it also pushed my back a few feet. Before I had time to focus back up, Shona was about to kick me, aiming for my face.
With Ryusei in my arms, I jumped to the side quick enough to barely dodge the kick. I let go of Ryusei and rushed back to Shona. He throws a punch at me but I dodge to the left.
With just a little time to respond back I punched him in the face. Left hook, Right hook, then another punch straight in the face ending off with a kick to his stomach, that pushed him back against the window.
The window cracked a bit. So I quickly pour magical energy into my hands. Coating my hands with my flames, enhancing my strength. I launch my fist at him, but he dodge and my fist connects with the window breaking it entirely.
I turned back around but I quickly saw a fist about to hit me. I dodge it, but Shona leg sweeps me, putting me on the ground. He quickly gets on top of me and throws a barrage of punches, I put up my guard to minimize the damage.
Ryusei gets behind Shona, he grabs the front of his jacket collar. He picks him up, getting him off of me, then tosses him back onto the ground face first. Ryusei then hardens his foot with ice and kicks him in the gut, sending him rolling back a few feet away from us.
Ryusei looks back at me and holds his hand out. I grabbed his hand and he helped me up.
"You okay Suika?" Ryusei asked.
"Yea I'm fine, thanks for that."
"Yep, no problem. You think he's done Suika?"
"Nope, not at all. He hasn't used one ounce of magic energy yet."
We see Shona slowly standing back up, he wipes the blood off that's coming out of his mouth and just grins at us. He takes off his jacket, he's wearing a regular white buttoned up shirt.
"For him Ryusei, the fight is really just getting started."
"You're right Suika." Shona cracks his head to the side. "This party is just starting for me. That was one hell of a kick you did to me Ryusei, it hurt me badly."
"Of course it would hurt, that's the point of kicking someone."
Shona just smiles, but the air starts to feel tense. His magical energy starts to radiate off of him. For him being the third knight his aura is definitely scary.
"Heh, I know you ain't getting scared on me Suika." Ryusei said.
"Me? Scared? That's crazy, I'm not scared of this guy. I just looked a bit shocked that's it. For him being the third knight his energy is something I've never felt before."
"I agree, for him being the third is an understatement."
"I hope you both are ready, and stop chit chatting."
Shona, now applying his magical energy, is faster than before, and appears right in front of Ryusei in a matter of seconds. Ryusei couldn't even process his thoughts before a punch hit him right in the face. Sending him flying back and crashing into a wall, knocking him out.
I quickly point my index and middle finger in a finger gun pose and fire a point blank range Twilight Arrow. But the arrow just phases right through him.
"What?!" I questioned. Was I tripping? No I wasn't, the arrow went right through him.
I quickly jumped back, where Ryusei was at. I had to now assess the situation. I was confused at what just happened. My mind couldn't even process a way on how he could do that.
The arrow went right through him. Is not like I couldn't miss because it was at point blank range. Is this his magical ability, he can phase through attacks? That can't be possible right?
"You're probably wondering what type of magic I have in that brain of yours? Everyone has the same reaction when their fist or attacks just phase right through me like that." He chuckles a bit. "You see, I have Sky magic, more specifically Mist Magic."
"Mist Magic huh? Not as many people have that."
"You're right and I'm the best of all of them."
Shona hands started to glow, and a faint glow of cracking indigo energy appeared.
"Mist Blades!" He shouts.
He slashes his hands forward and a dense form of mist starts to launch my way. I tried to dodge the Mist blades, but some cut me on my arms and face.
I was getting tired of getting cut, so I decided to rush at him. The mist blades were still heading my way but I was dodging them. I hold out my hand to my side, my hand starts to glow and 15 Twilight Arrows spawn.
They were in circular motion and launched all of them at Shona. Some of the arrows hit the mist blades, dispelling each other but some manage to reach Shona, cutting his face.
I managed to get close to him, I made another Arrow gripping it tightly like a sword. I tried to pierce his chest with the arrow but he just made his body a mist, so it wouldn't affect him.
"Just too slow Suika."
He headbutts me, making me stagger back a little. He grabs my arm and throws me into a door of one of the classrooms nearby. I crash through the door landing in the class. "Ow damn." I said.
When I focus my eyes I see Shona about to jump on me, I quickly roll out of the way. I jump back up and throw a chair in his direction. The chair hits him right in the head, making him start to bleed.
"Oh so you can stop my arrows, but can't stop a chair. Ha ridiculous."
Shona starts to get frustrated, and tries to punch me but i jump back and throw another chair at him, hitting him. I can tell he's started to get more angry, so each time he got close I would throw a chair at him.
"Ha take this, take that." I said.
I pick up the last chair and throw it at him, this time he jumps onto it and boosts himself off the chair to get to me. I smirk seeing him coming close.
I clap my hands and magical energy starts to build up. A ball of my magic energy forms within my hands. Shona realizes this last second but couldn't stop his momentum.
"Twilight Bombshell!" I shouted.
Then the attacks begin to glow and a big explosion happens, destroying the whole classroom and making the windows burst out.
After the smoke clears, I sit up from the ground and cough out. I look around and see nothing but destruction. The class was now a mess with burned marks everywhere.
"Eh, looks like I went a bit too far with that attack." I chuckled.
"Y-you bastard!" a voice shouts.
I look to the back of the class and see Shona standing there, but half of his face was burned. Also his left arm seems to be completely destroyed, by the way it's hanging. Blood flowing down his arm onto the floor.
"You're crazy! You could've killed me if I didn't block that in time."
"Killed you? Aren't you trying to kill me this whole time, don't be hypocritical now." I stand back up dusting the debris off of me. "Still looks like you took a heavy shot, that's my first time using that attack. Glad it seems to work."
"I'll kill you!" He angrily shouted.
He outstretched his arms, pouring out his magical energy into the room. I was wondering what he was doing but it was too late before I realized what he did. He filled the whole room with mist.
I couldn't see a thing, it was like being a pitch black room but this time it was mist. I waved my hand around trying to disburse the mist, but it kept forming back.
"Heh, finally using your main weapon huh, you got tired of getting your ass kicked by some chairs?"
But there was no response, just the mist. Then I heard footsteps behind me, I quickly shot a Twilight Arrow but it was nothing there. Then I heard someone to my right and shot a Twilight Arrow but like before there was no one there.
He's playing mind tricks on me. He's using the mist to get my senses off guard, so he could attack me. I gotta stay fou-.
My thoughts seem to stop when I see many Shona's. There were about ten of them, surrounding me. I couldn't believe my eyes. Suddenly they all begin to rush at me, I quickly get ready.
One of them gets close and I punch them in the face, but my fist just phases through it. "What!" I said. Then I felt a sharp pain in my back, one of the Shona's cut me in the back with a mist blade.
I quickly turn around and kick it in the stomach but yet again my kick phases through it.
What is going on? My attacks just phase through them. It just feels like they are not even real…illusions. I didn't think he was capable of doing that. It seems like he can only make illusions within the mist. I just have to focus and find the real one, try to feel the magical energy.
I breathe out and close my eyes, and start to concentrate to pinpoint the real Shona. More Shona's begin to appear and come up to attack me.
Punching, kicking, slicing with the mist blade. I let it all happen just to focus on finding the real one. One of the Shona's came up to attack me but I grabbed their arm. I open my eyes.
"Hello Shona."
"B-but h-how? How did you know that I was the real one?" He shuddered.
"You see, your magical output is different from the rest. The illusions just had a small amount of magical energy, I could tell you lower yours to be on the same level but it still felt different because you're a physical thing."
"That's crazy! It's no way you just knew just based on magical output."
"You're right that wasn't the only reason. You see, I just stop believing in your illusions. See when i believe in your illusions they did physical harm to me, but i force myself to not believe. This just proves that if the enemy is aware that they are experiencing an illusion, it will have no effect on them and does not exist."
Shona was stunned, he couldn't even make up words. He just stood there with his mouth gaped open in shock. So much shock that the mist around us started to disappear and I could see the classroom again. With me still grabbing his arm, imbue my other fist with magic energy and punch him straight in the face sending him flying back out of the classroom.
I walk out of the classroom, my body somewhat covered in blood, from the attacks I took from the illusions when I believed in them. Shona lay against the wall, as I stood two feet away from him.
"It's over Shona, you've lost."
"No, no, NO! I haven't lost yet, if I lose Rory will… No, I just can't lose."
He slowly stands up and outstretched his arms again, seemingly trying to cover the hallway with his mist.
"I will win. I will never lose to someone like yo-"
His mist seemed to stop flowing out, it wasn't just because he stopped it. It was because it was frozen. I just smirk and I hear footsteps approaching from my left.
"Good to see you woke up Ryusei, I was wondering when you were going to wake up."
"Yea, sorry for the wait." Ryusei said as he stood next to me.
"No my mist! B-but how? How is my mist frozen?"
"Well I think everyone would know that mist is just water vapor. And my magic lets me harden those water molecules creating Ice. So your Mist magic can't work on me. If you would've used your magic from the beginning, you would've already lost."
"N-no that can't be. I can't lose…I just can't!!"
Shona outputs all of his magical energy, it was so strong that even Ryusei and I had to jump back. Shona stands up slowly and walks to the center of the hallway. With one arm he has, he pours all of his magic into that.
The mist forms into his hand in a circular motion, forming like a small vortex. It starts to crackle and the ground beneath us starts to shake heavily.
"It's over! Mistification Gone!!! He shouts.
He outstretched his hand forward, and a dense blast of mist magic headed towards us. Destroying the ground and the walls as it reaches closer. Ryusei just steps in front and outstretches his hand.
He poured out his magic energy and as the attack got close it started to freeze, and before it could reach both of us it completely froze. Ryusei crushes it and the attack falls to the ground into many different pieces.
I didn't waste any time and rushed towards Shona to finish him off. I imbued my fist once again with my magic and hit Shona with so much force, a small shockwave was created. And he went flying back crashing through the walls of the school.
I lower my fist, putting it back to my side. Ryusei walks up next to me.
"It seems like we won huh?" He asked.
"Yep, we did it. We took down one of the members of the Trilogy Knights. Thanks Ryusei, I couldn't do it without you."
"I can say the same thing. With him just using his physical strength he was really strong. If it was just one of us we would've lost."
"Well… I guess for you. I was actually about to beat him before you froze his mist."
"Oh yeah? How were you going counter that last attack huh? Without me freezing it, you wouldn't have an open shot of hitting him."
We looked at each other for a moment, then just smiled. We both knew we were joking around but deep inside we were grateful for each other.
"So what are we going to do about this mess?" I said looking around at the destroyed ground and broken windows.
"Well let's just blame it on Shona, I can just tie him up and when people come to school tomorrow they would just see Shona here. The guilty one."
"I like that idea. Sometimes you can be the smart one." I hold out a fist bump. "Thanks again buddy."
"Yea no problem." He smiles and returns the fist bump.
