"Please, you can't do her any harm," the man spoke with a strict tone.
Merima was so annoyed that she slapped the guard hard. "Do you even know who I am?" she shouted.
"I'm just following orders," the guard replied plainly, as if he weren't the one who had just been slapped but if anyone were to look into his eyes they will notice that his eyes was filled with deadly intent.
Merima pointed at him and then looked at Lilith, who was still lying on the ground with her head down. "This won't end like this!" she yelled, walking away.
Lilith, still on the ground, was helped up by the guard who had just been struck by Merima. His hand wasn't rough; it even trembled slightly as he helped her up, his gaze falling on the scars that marred her visage.
"Follow me to eat first," he advised in an unsteady tone before turning and leading the way.
Lilith stared at the back of the guard and shook her head. "Why am I thinking of him? Even if he's still alive, he will hate me to the core." Her heart started racing as she looked at the huge rock nearby and smiled. "I've known everything; it's time to accompany you, my groom," she murmured as she walked toward the rock. Without hesitation, she struck her head against it.
Blood splattered on the rock, instantly painting it red as Lilith's forehead caved in, blood pouring out uncontrollably. There was no doubt she wouldn't survive this.
The guard, already at a distance, suddenly stopped and looked back only to witness the horrific scene.
"Lilith!" he shouted at the top of his lungs. In a blink, he was beside her, cradling her in his embrace. "Open your eyes! I will definitely heal you; you are not allowed to get injured!" he cried out in panic, two bloody tears escaping his eyes.
"Lu... Lucifer, am I dreaming? It's really you, right?" Lilith smiled at him, but the wind blew her hair away, revealing her unsightly appearance.
She bore a terrible scar that ran from her lip up to her left eye, making her left eye blind. Her mouth was grotesquely large, and there were small scars scattered across her face. Despite how horrifying she looked, the guard didn't care; he was solely focused on healing her.
Relax, nothing will happen to you. I promise I will always protect you. I won't make the same mistake again. If I didn't have plans to take on another body to approach you and waste most of my time, this wouldn't have happened. I promise, once you get better, I will definitely end him, even if you hate me for killing him. I won't mind. Fix your mind on healing, okay? Just cooperate with me," he spoke in a rush, nervously, his heart beating faster.
Lilith smiled, though, with that smile on her face, she looked even worse. "This... This is the first time you called me by my name. This is the first time you aren't as calm as you used to be. This is the first time you've spoken so many words, and yet all of this is still because of me. I made you break most of your rules. I caused you a lot of trouble before. I only wish to fix it and obediently be your bride," she replied.
The guard wiped the blood from Lilith's face while his palm rested on her chest. "Listen to me and focus on healing. We will talk about other things once you are better," he urged.
"I'm sorry, if there's another chance I will obediently be your bride." Lilith whispered and spat out a mouthful of blood, then she stopped breathing.
The guard's body went cold; his once green eyes turned crimson immediately, and the whole sky became extremely red, resembling blood. Black tears fell from the Devil's eyes, and his black hair transformed into red. "Everyone is following her! The whole world will vanish! No one is allowed to continue living! Ahhhhhh!" he shouted, his voice sounding from all directions and directly attacking people, it's like a sword that peirce into people hearts. Suddenly, a bizarre wind began, and the bloody sky started raining blood, soaking everyone in red. All living beings began dying and melting away while the Devil just held Lilith with a sorrowful heart.
"THE WHOLE LIVING BEINGS SHALL PERISH!" he murmured, and just as he commanded, the ground began splitting all the way through to all kinds of worlds, determined to ruin all things, even the world must turn into nothing and emptiness.
.....
"Pa!"
That wasn't a gunshot; it was actually a slap.
Inside the royal hall filled with all kinds of demons and humans of different statues but wealthy, a beautiful lady with long silver hair slapped the handsome man standing before her so hard that her fingerprint left a visible mark on his face.
Everyone in the hall was stunned, all looking at Lilith with complicated expressions. If not for the fact that the Devil was present and he was the one who had been slapped, a commotion would have already erupted. However, since the Devil himself wasn't someone to be trifled with, none of the onlookers dared risk their families' safety by making a comment; they didn't even dare to form any thoughts in their hearts. The hall was abnormally silent.
Lilith, who had just slapped the Devil, seemed to have just woken up. She blinked several times, looking at the Devil, who was calmly staring back at her with no hint of annoyance on his face. Suddenly, she leaped toward him, hugging him tightly.
"I know you won't leave me," she murmured, tears streaming down her face.
Everyone was incredulous, even the Devil himself was stunned into silence. The only question in everyone's hearts was, "Is the princess insane or what?"
Lilith clung to the Devil like a koala, fearing that he would vanish the moment she released him. "I know I have offended you in all ways, but please hug me back. Let me feel your temperature before everything disappears," she pleaded.
Confused, the Devil didn't dare disobey his beloved's request, thus he embraced her, although internally, he was trying to comprehend what had come over her.
Lilith rubbed her face against the Devil's neck, inhaling that familiar scent of his. "This feels so real. I really don't want to let go," she thought. "I don't know if this is the soul world, but I just can't bear to release him," she mused, holding him tighter and feeling his cold arm around her waist.
Dressed in a royal tube top and a long skirt that concealed her feet, Lilith's tube top lifted slightly as she embraced the Devil, allowing his hand to make direct contact with her skin.
Initially, the Devil thought she would create a fuss now that his hand was touching her bare skin; after all, that was what Lilith hated most. She often complained about how cold his temperature was, and she had even once called him a "cold living corpse," thereby banning any contact between them ever again. However, after waiting for what seemed like an eternity for Lilith to scold him, he was taken aback to find that she remained attached to him and didn't seem to mind his cold body.
"My Bride!" he murmured softly, trying to gain her attention so that later she wouldn't feel disgusted and want to injure herself. However, Lilith merely responded with a "mhm" and didn't seem inclined to release him from the embrace.
This prompted him to utilize his senses to examine Lilith's body for any signs of possession, but surprisingly, she wasn't possessed and was in good health. He truly could not understand this Bride of his any longer.
