"Ah, the time for regret is over. I'm happy you didn't regret earlier. Ah, you want to use spells or what?" Lucas laughed, slapping his forehead lightly. "How did the demon king give birth to such trash like you? All the food you have been eating with me, do you think I wouldn't do something to it? That's right; my plan almost ruined when that devil noticed, and thanks to you, he was helpless and couldn't do anything," he grinned, touching Lilith's neck, tracing the spot where Lucifer bit her.
"To think that he placed his soul-protecting scale on you through blood—how touching! But all this is useless now because you don't have any heart for him. Assuming you had one, you would really have escaped this time," he laughed again.
Lilith's eyes widened as she realized that all this was part of Lucas's plan; she was merely a pawn in his scheme. "Who exactly are you?" More tears escaped her eyes.
"Me?" Lucas grinned and threw Lilith to the ground, making her gasp for breath. "I'm the whole hell's nightmare, Lucas, the fox clan prince. From now on, the entire hell is mine! Haha!" He laughed mysteriously.
Lilith cried silently, unable to find the final words to say. Instead, she could only recall her time with the Devil, a bitter smile appearing on her face. Someone had been trying his best to protect her, care for her, love her, and satisfy her, but what did she do in return for that favor? She killed him—sold away all his years of hard work—and here she was now, not even possessing enough energy to defend herself.
Lucas looked at Lilith, that mocking smile still on his face. "Even though the princess is a fool, she still has a very rare and beautiful face. Since she was so desperately wanting to be with me, I shall grant her wish. From now on, she's my pleasure slave. After I'm tired with her, I'll just dump her into a cell. For now, let me enjoy what someone didn't appreciate before his death," he declared while keeping his gaze fixed on Lilith.
Before Lilith could comprehend who Lucas was addressing, she heard a powerful voice respond with a simple "yes," and then her vision turned blurry. She fainted on the spot, Lucas's laughter echoing throughout the world.
A few years later, a rough-looking lady was dragged out from a dog cage with chains. From head to toe, she was completely bound with iron chains that barely allowed her to move. Her silver hair was tangled and matted, covering her face. She was almost naked, with scars—both new and old—scattered all over her body. Step by step, she walked until someone landed a heavy punch on her, causing her to fall and vomit blood immediately.
"Tsk, the once powerful demon princess who was pampered by the Devil has been reduced to this! Ah, what befalls her should be more than this!" someone exclaimed.
"Isn't she the reason we are all here? If the Devil hadn't loved her and tried to please her in every way, would we be in this situation?" another angry voice echoed as he stepped on her.
"Ah, I really want to kill her! Isn't this the mighty princess? Why is she reduced to this now? You deserve heavenly thunder!"
Different curses were hurled as everyone vented their anger on her. As Lilith tried to get up, she was mercilessly stepped on—a barrage of kicks and insults fell upon her, intensifying the pain in her heart even more than the pain in her body.
She gave up struggling, and the tormentors eventually stopped. Just as she was about to rise again, a soft, tender hand reached out to help her.
Stunned, she looked up through her hair, which covered her face, and saw the young girl who had come to her aid.
"Delilah," she croaked, her voice hoarse and barely audible. One could imagine just from her voice how much suffering she had endured.
"Great Devil Bride, let me address you like this without getting scold please". Delilah said, forcing a smile as tears streamed down her face.
Lilith managed a weak smile. "You… why don't you blame me? Most of the injuries you have are not caused by them but by me. I lost my honor, and yet, you still stick to me?" she asked gently.
Delilah smiled and hugged Lilith. "Great Devil Bride, I'm glad you didn't scold me now. This means you finally accept the Devil as your groom. I've completed the task he gave me, and now I am at ease. His Majesty the Devil will not be upset anymore," she spoke, her voice becoming softer and softer until it faded. Her eyes closed, and her hand dropped.
Lilith watched as Delilah's soul left her body, turning to her with a warm smile before vanishing into the air.
More tears escaped Lilith's eyes. She deeply regretted everything; she regretted causing so many people to lose their lives. They lost their lives because of her. She looked at Delilah's body and hugged it, feeling its warmth before it turned cold.
Consumed by sadness, she was dragged mercilessly from the spot until she was pushed in front of someone.
"Ah, isn't this my sister, the Devil Bride!" a mocking female voice called out.
Without raising her head, Lilith already knew who it was; it was her adopted sister, a fox demon.
"Tsk tsk, tsk, to actually think that you could be reduced to this. Ah, this is a relief!" she chuckled.
Lilith lowered her head. This adopted sister of hers had always been mute, which was part of the reason why she had been pitied by the demon king, leading them to take her in and hide her from the Devil.
But how could the Devil be unaware of such things? He merely spared her, and that was all because of Lilith.
"Oh, you aren't mute and you actually planned this with Lucas, didn't you, Merima?" she inquired, even though she already knew the answer.
Merima laughed. "And why do you think Lucas was able to change your opinion of the Devil so easily? He could approach you all thanks to me!" She laughed even harder.
Lilith remained silent. "What exactly is your goal?" she pressed.
"Ah, sister, oh sister, even now you are still unaware. Our goal is simple: for the fox clan to lead, and for me to be beside Lucas, controlling the whole world together," Merima chuckled again.
Lilith continued to remain silent.
"Ah yes, I am also interested in the Devil. If only he wouldn't always reject me and punish me cruelly. You would be the only one I would want to kill, and I wouldn't even need to help Lucas, even though he has his own plan. He likely won't succeed, and I will be enjoying the position of the great Devil Bride. But he's just too stubborn and only has his eyes on a fool like you. What could I do? I can only follow Lucas," Merima remarked, stepping on Lilith's head with a smirk.
"You are still alive; it's rather surprising, but that's cool. At least I will have someone to vent my frustrations on," she grinned.
Lilith didn't struggle. "Are you aware that this Lucas, whom you're so eager to shout about, made me his sex slave? Even though my body is covered in scars, he specifically ordered that nothing much happen to my face. For a man to behave like this, hmm, what do you think?" she replied, her tone dripping with provocation.
"What the hell do you mean?!" Merima shouted, her annoyance evident as she kicked Lilith hard. "I'm going to kill you!"
But before her hand could contact Lilith, she was stopped by a man who seemed to be a guard.
