Gentle Devil (3)

"Sis...sis... sister...sister," Merima stammered, immediately covering herself. She was in so much panic that she almost stepped on her skirt and tripped.

Lilith smiled and gently caressed Devil's chest. "Ah, what did you have to say now? You don't intend to seduce your brother-in-law; you are just trying to smooth our relationship, isn't that what you intend to do? Or rather, what you plan to say?" She smiled dangerously.

Merima bit her lower lip. "How come this bastard is suddenly here?" she thought, trying very hard to suppress her anger.

Satan looked at Lilith as if he were staring at a ghost. "The Queen is…," he stammered, completely stunned.

Devin's eyes didn't leave Lilith from the moment she arrived. He couldn't deny the fact that he was shocked by Lilith's sudden behavior, but even though he was stunned, he couldn't help but enjoy Lilith claiming him for herself.

He was well aware that this might be part of Lilith's trick, but he just couldn't help loving her more. Even if it was just a plan, a trick to take him down, he felt happy with her.

"Even if you are just pretending, I am very happy that at least you've shown me your care, even if it's a plan," he thought, and he couldn't help himself from hugging her waist while resting his head on her shoulder and closed his eyes, enjoying her tempting fragrance.

Lilith's body stiffened for a moment as Devil's cold hand wrapped around her waist. She looked down at his hand and bit her lower lip, recalling that Merima was still present, so she stayed steady.

"Just now, you talked; I almost missed that. Could it be that before, you don't plan on seducing him because you were mute, and now that you are no longer mute, you want to seduce him?" Lilith grinned wickedly. "Or could it be that I misunderstood something?" she remarked.

Merima felt like she was on the brink of vomiting blood. "When did this bastard learn how to ruin people with statements? She's saving me and ruining me at the same time," she thought and smiled awkwardly. "How… how could my sister say that? Today, I was walking alone and coincidentally met a sage. He's not in good health, so I helped him. In gratitude, he restored my ability to speak. As for coming to his Majesty, it's not to seduce him. Sister, you have to believe him; I came here to talk to him on your behalf," she replied, looking wronged.

Lilith remained silent for a very long time, her gaze fixed on Merima. "Trying to make me look like a villain? You are really something, but I will let you off this time. After all, how will I feel good if you die so easily?" she thought and smiled. "Oh, it's like that? I'm actually sorry, sister. I was just…." She stared meaningfully at Merima.

Seeing that stare, Merima smiled. "It turns out it was just an act; I almost got convinced. Well, I should calmly let you destroy yourself before I make him mine," she thought. "I think my job here is done; I will leave first," she stated, turning around. "There will surely be a war between them after I leave," she thought, smiling wickedly before exiting the room.

Right after Merima left, the whole room became extremely cold. Satan's gaze had long since left Lilith, and he was now clenching his fists tightly.

"It couldn't be that she was just pretending, right? Will she reveal her true behavior? This queen of mine is really blind, but the king… If this continues, his life is in real danger," he mused, clenching his fists even tighter.

"You will stand there and admire your Queen's beauty until you have an idea toward her?" Lilith commented in a smug tone, her gaze falling on Satan.

Satan was stunned and immediately knelt. "I dare not!" he proclaimed, without giving it a second thought he vanished into the air without any traces.

Lilith looked at the Devil's hand, which was holding her waist firmly, and opened her mouth, but just as she did, Devil's voice intruded.

"I know you feel disgusted by my touch, but please let me hold you like this a little longer," he murmured.

Lilith bit her lower lip. "What's wrong with this husband of mine? Does he have to think of my bad deeds? Doesn't he notice my style of dressing?" she pondered, her brows knitted.

Devil kissed Lilith's neck, and it seemed he noticed her frown. His brows knitted even tighter as he held Lilith closer, bringing his mouth to her ear.

"Lilith, trust this Devil. I will never hurt you. Please stop all this. I can promise you whatever you want. This Devil feels alone and empty without your care and love," he murmured, resting his chin on her shoulder.

Lilith didn't know how to respond. "First… you know Merima's intentions. Why don't you chase her away immediately?" she inquired.

Devil slowly opened his eyes, staring at Lilith with disbelief. "If I were to hurt her, my Bride would definitely get the chance to go against me," he explained.

Lilith sighed. "Right, she shouldn't die at his hands; she should die at my hands instead," she thought. "Then why don't you come to my room? Could it be that you are no longer interested in me?" She lifted her brows at him.

Devil was utterly stunned, staring at Lilith as if she were a completely different person. "Did Delilah give you hell wine?" he asked.

Lilith immediately looked at him and angrily brushed his hand away from her waist, getting up from his lap and sending him a murderous glare.

"You think I'm drunk, huh? Lucifer, let me tell you, even if you don't want me anymore, it's… it's too late already," she shouted, tears streaming down her face.

She was hurt, not just because the Devil still thought that she was pretending, but because he was hesitant about her. Forcing herself on him after all he had done for her made her feel guilty. She didn't treasure him in her past life, and if he distanced himself from her in this life, he was not at fault.

Devil was taken aback by Lilith's tears; his eyes turned a bloody red instantly as he stood up, pulling her into his embrace.

"I'm sorry. This Devil made you cry; it's my fault. I will never upset you again. I'm very sorry," he pleaded immediately.

Lilith's tears flowed even more. Though his whole body was cold, she couldn't help but feel warm in his embrace. She looked up at him and bit her lips.

"Lucifer, do you still love me?" she asked.

Devil nodded his head immediately, afraid that any slow action would make his beloved bride feel bad.

"And you will do whatever I want?" Lilith inquired again.

Devin nodded in reply. "As long as you are happy, but..." His brow furrowed slightly. "Lilith, I can do all that you want except for freeing you from this marriage. You are already my bride; I can't leave you for another man," he declared, his voice and tone filled with a determination that was difficult to take back.
