A Chance Encounter

Richard walked away from the front desk, his eyes fixed on the lounge area across the lobby. He could feel Adrienne's gaze on him, but he didn't look back.

As he entered the lounge, he was greeted by the warm aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the soft hum of conversation. Richard made his way to the bar, ordering a cup of black coffee as he scanned the room.

He didn't notice Andre following him until the man sat down beside him at the bar. "Mind if I join you, Mr. Thompson?" Andre asked, his voice friendly.

Richard raised an eyebrow, but nodded curtly. "Not at all."

Andre ordered a coffee and turned to Richard, his eyes sparkling with curiosity. "So, what brings you to our hotel, Mr. Thompson?"

Richard shrugged, taking a sip of his coffee. "Just a business trip. I'm looking to expand my company's operations in this city."

Andre nodded thoughtfully. "I see. Well, if you need any help navigating the local business scene, I'd be happy to introduce you to some people."

Richard smiled, his eyes narrowing slightly. "I appreciate the offer, Andre. But I think I'll be able to handle it on my own."

Andre's smile faltered for a moment, before he recovered. "Of course, Mr. Thompson. I just wanted to offer my assistance."

As they chatted, Richard couldn't shake the feeling that Andre was trying to get something out of him. But what?

Just as Richard was starting to feel like he'd had enough of Andre's small talk, Adrienne appeared at his side, a bright smile on her face.

"Hi again, Mr. Thompson," she said, her eyes sparkling with warmth. "I see you've met Andre."

Richard nodded, feeling a surge of pleasure at the sight of Adrienne. "Yes, we were just discussing the local business scene."

Adrienne's eyes flicked to Andre, and for a moment, Richard thought he saw a flash of warning in her gaze. But then, her smile returned, and she turned back to Richard.

"I hope you're finding everything to your liking, Mr. Thompson," she said, her voice smooth as silk. "Is there anything else I can do for you?"

Richard's eyes locked onto hers, and for a moment, they just stared at each other. He felt like he could see right through to her soul, like he could sense the secrets she was hiding.

"I think I'd like to take you up on that offer, Adrienne," Richard said, his voice low and husky. "I'd love to see more of the hotel's facilities. Would you be willing to give me a tour?"

As Adrienne smiled at Richard, Andre felt a pang of unease. What was she doing? Didn't she know that Richard Thompson was trouble?

Andre had done his research on Richard, and he knew that the man was ruthless in business. He would stop at nothing to get what he wanted, and Andre had a feeling that what Richard wanted was Adrienne.

But why? What was it about Adrienne that had caught Richard's attention? Was it just her beauty, or was there something more?

Andre's eyes narrowed as he watched Richard and Adrienne chat. He didn't like the way Richard was looking at her, like he owned her or something.

Andre's instincts were screaming at him to intervene, to protect Adrienne from Richard's clutches. But how?

Richard's eyes never left Andre's face as he watched him try to speak to Adrienne. It was almost comical, the way Andre was trying to get her attention, but Adrienne was having none of it.

She politely smiled and nodded, but her eyes kept drifting back to Richard, and he could sense her interest. It was a spark, a flicker of attraction that he was determined to fan into a flame.

Andre, on the other hand, seemed oblivious to the undercurrents. He kept talking, trying to insert himself into the conversation, but Richard was having none of it.

With a subtle smile, Richard leaned in, his voice low and intimate. "Adrienne, would you be so kind as to show me to the hotel's gym? I believe it's time for my morning workout."

Adrienne's eyes locked onto his, and for a moment, they just stared at each other. Then, with a nod, she turned to Andre. "Excuse me, Andre. I'll be back shortly."

Andre's face fell, but he quickly recovered. "Of course, Adrienne. I'll be here when you get back."

As Adrienne walked away with Richard, Andre's eyes narrowed. What was going on here? And why did he get the feeling that he was losing Adrienne to this charismatic stranger?
