Episode 3: Project Genesis

Talent Reborn – Season 2

Episode 3: Project Genesis

Haruto and Renji sat in a dimly lit motel room, the air thick with tension.

The USB drive Kuroda had given them lay between them.

"This thing better have answers," Renji muttered, inserting it into a laptop.

The screen flickered.

Then—a password prompt.

Haruto clenched his jaw. "Of course it wouldn't be that easy."

Renji sighed. "We don't even know where to start."

But Haruto wasn't so sure.

Kuroda had given them this for a reason. There had to be a clue.

His eyes drifted to the motel's cheap nightstand, where a worn medical journal lay open.

The author's name?

Dr. Ryoji Kuroda.

Beneath it, in faded ink, was a handwritten phrase.

"The first mistake is thinking you know everything."

Haruto typed the phrase into the password field.

For a second, nothing happened.

Then—the files unlocked.

Renji exhaled. "You've gotta be kidding me."

Haruto didn't respond.

Because what he saw on the screen made his blood run cold.

The documents were filled with medical jargon, research notes, and genetic sequences.

But one phrase stood out.

PROJECT GENESIS: The Birth of Superhuman Medicine.

Haruto scrolled through rapidly, his eyes widening.

The organization wasn't just experimenting on people.

They were creating people.

Genetically altering individuals to awaken latent talents—abilities beyond human capability.

And Haruto…

His name was in the files.

Along with others.

Subject 09: Haruto Aizawa

Status: Active – High Potential

Renji's hand tightened into a fist. "They made you this way?"

Haruto's stomach churned. He had always thought his ability was some cosmic accident, a gift from fate.

But now?

Now he wasn't sure if it was a gift or a curse.

Before they could process it all, another file caught Haruto's attention.

A location.

A secret research facility tied to Project Genesis.

Haruto's jaw tightened.

"If we want real answers, we go there."

Renji folded his arms. "You sure about this?"

Haruto nodded. "If they gave me this power… I need to know why. And if they're still experimenting on people…"

His fists clenched.

"I'm going to stop them."

Renji smirked. "Then let's crash their little science project."

As they packed their bags and prepared to leave, neither of them noticed—

A red light blinking on the laptop screen.

A silent signal.

Warning someone that the files had been accessed.

And somewhere in the shadows…

The hunters were already moving.

To Be Continued…
