Episode 2: The Underground Clinic

Talent Reborn – Season 2

Episode 2: The Underground Clinic

Haruto and Renji moved through the narrow backstreets of Osaka, their faces hidden beneath hoods.

The city bustled with life, but to Haruto, every glance felt like a threat.

They arrived at an unmarked building—a run-down underground clinic known only to those desperate enough to seek illegal treatment.

This was the last place Dr. Kuroda had been seen.

If he was alive, he was here.

Or someone here knew what had happened to him.

The clinic smelled of antiseptic and old blood. Overworked doctors moved between patients, ignoring Haruto and Renji as they stepped inside.

A woman in a white coat approached, her sharp eyes scanning them.

"You're not patients," she said.

Renji stepped forward. "We're looking for Dr. Kuroda."

The woman stiffened. "Never heard of him."

Haruto studied her face. She was lying.

His ability let him see it—the small shift in her stance, the flicker of her gaze toward a locked door in the back.

He pressed forward. "Please. He's the only one who can help us."

For a long moment, the woman said nothing.

Then, she sighed. "Follow me."

The room behind the locked door was dimly lit, filled with stacks of medical files.

And in the center, hooked up to an IV drip, sat Dr. Kuroda.

He looked thinner, paler than before—but he was alive.

His eyes flickered open, focusing on Haruto.

"You… finally made it," Kuroda rasped.

Haruto stepped closer. "We need answers."

Kuroda exhaled weakly. "You're not ready for the truth."

Renji scowled. "We don't have time for riddles!"

Kuroda gave a tired smile. "Then listen carefully… and be ready to run."

Because the organization was already coming.

Before Kuroda could speak again, the sound of footsteps echoed outside.

Then—

Bang!

The door burst open, and masked men in black tactical gear stormed in.

Renji cursed. "They found us!"

Haruto grabbed Kuroda, trying to pull him to his feet. "We're getting you out of here!"

But Kuroda shook his head, shoving a USB drive into Haruto's hand.

"Take this," he whispered. "Find the Project Genesis files. It's the key to everything."

Before Haruto could ask more, Kuroda turned to face the intruders.

"Go!" he roared.

Haruto hesitated—then Renji grabbed his arm.

"Haruto, we can't save him now!"

Teeth clenched, Haruto turned and ran.

As they escaped through a back door, he heard Kuroda's final words:

"This fight isn't just about you anymore, Haruto."

And then—gunfire.

Haruto and Renji disappeared into the city, hearts pounding.

They had lost Kuroda.

But they had something even more valuable.

A name.

Project Genesis.

And on the USB drive in Haruto's hands…

The truth behind their abilities.

The truth behind the organization.

The truth behind everything.
