CHAPTER 16

Sienna sighed as the familiar ache curled through her lower abdomen. She hated this—hated how her body seemed to turn against her once a month, draining her energy and leaving her feeling miserable. She had barely slept, tossing and turning in Damian’s bed, but the cramps had only worsened.

Now, wrapped in a thick sweater, she pulled a blanket tightly around her shoulders and walked into the living room. She sank onto the couch, curling up with a deep sigh.

"I hate periods," she muttered to herself.

The front door opened, and Damian stepped in. His black T-shirt clung to his body, damp with sweat, his dark hair slightly tousled from an early-morning workout. He looked like he had just come from the gym—broad shoulders tense, veins slightly visible along his arms.

His sharp gaze landed on her immediately.

"You okay?" His voice was rough, still edged with exertion.

Before she could answer, he leaned down and pressed a warm kiss to her forehead.
