As I looked into Alex's eyes, I felt a spark of connection that I couldn't ignore. It was as if time had stood still, and all that mattered was the two of us, suspended in that moment.
"Would you like to grab lunch together?" Alex asked, breaking the silence.
I nodded, still feeling a little dazed. We walked out of the old oak room, into the bright sunlight, and made our way to the cafeteria.
As we sat down at a table, I couldn't help but notice the curious glances from our classmates. Alex seemed oblivious to the attention, focusing instead on our conversation.
We talked about everything and nothing, our words flowing easily. I found myself laughing and smiling, feeling more alive than I had in weeks.
As lunch came to a close, Alex walked me to my next class. We stood outside the classroom door, lingering.
"Thanks for lunch," I said, feeling a little shy.
Alex smiled. "Anytime."
And then, without thinking, he reached out and gently brushed a strand of hair behind my ear. The touch sent shivers down my spine.
"I'll see you around," Alex said, his voice low and husky.
I nodded, still feeling the warmth of his touch. As I watched him walk away, I couldn't help but wonder what this new connection might mean.
Was it just a friendship, or something more?
