Chapter 19: Feelings

As I walked into class, I couldn't shake off the feeling that something had shifted. It was as if Alex's touch had awakened a part of me that had been dormant for months.

Throughout the day, I found myself glancing at the clock, counting down the minutes until I could see Alex again. We had no classes together, but I knew he'd be at practice for the school soccer team.

After school, I made my way to the soccer field, telling myself I was just going to watch the practice. But deep down, I knew I was hoping to catch a glimpse of Alex.

As I sat on the bleachers, watching the team run drills, I felt a sense of excitement build up inside me. And then, just as practice was ending, Alex caught my eye and smiled.

My heart skipped a beat as he jogged over to me, his sweat-drenched hair messy and endearing.

"Hey," he said, breathing heavily. "What brings you here?"

I shrugged, trying to play it cool. "Just thought I'd watch some soccer."

Alex raised an eyebrow. "You're not exactly the soccer type."

I laughed. "Hey, I resent that."

Alex grinned. "I'm just saying."

We stood there for a moment, the tension between us palpable. And then, without thinking, Alex reached out and gently brushed his hand against mine.

It was a fleeting touch, but it sent shivers down my spine.

"Want to grab dinner with me?" Alex asked, his eyes sparkling with mischief.

I nodded, my heart racing with excitement.

As we walked off the field together, I knew that this was just the beginning of something special. ‎
