Chapter 3:Trouble In Pallet town!

Inside a luxurious, dimly lit room, the atmosphere was thick with tension. A man in a slick black suit sat behind an ornate mahogany desk, his posture calm yet commanding. A small red "R" was stitched neatly onto his suit pocket, signifying his status as the boss of Team Rocket. Beside him, a sleek Persian lounged gracefully, its sharp eyes watching the trembling man standing before them.

Giovanni's hand moved slowly as he stroked Persian's fur, his expression calm—but his dark eyes held a dangerous glint. The man standing before him was a Rocket captain, his uniform slightly disheveled, sweat trickling down his forehead as he stammered out his report.

"B-Boss Giovanni," the captain began, his voice shaking. "I… I tried very hard alongside everyone, but… when we were close to one of the psychic signals, we were intercepted by two people."

Giovanni's hand froze mid-stroke. His gaze sharpened dangerously, and the room's temperature seemed to drop. "Intercepted?" His voice was low and cutting, the single word dripping with cold menace.

The captain flinched, his mouth going dry. He hurriedly nodded, desperate to avoid the dark gaze burning into him. "Y-Yes, sir! A boy named Rex… alongside a girl—we didn't get her name. Both around sixteen."

Giovanni's eyes narrowed further. "Sixteen…" His tone darkened, his hand slipping from Persian's fur.

The captain swallowed hard, feeling his legs weaken. "T-The psychic signals… they were coming from them. A-And the boy, Rex… he was wearing the Poketrix! He even… somehow turned himself into a Pokémon—"

CRASH!

The captain's words were cut off as Persian leapt from the desk with lightning speed, its body a blur as it tackled the captain to the floor. The man choked as Persian's claws pressed dangerously against his throat.

Giovanni's steps were slow and deliberate as he approached the downed captain. His gaze was cold enough to freeze bone. "The Poketrix… has already scanned a DNA?" Giovanni's voice was sharp and dangerous.

The captain's face twisted in panic as he struggled to breathe beneath Persian's crushing weight. "B-Boss, p-please—"

Giovanni's face darkened with rage. His fists clenched at his sides. "My Poketrix. The one thing that would have made my path to becoming the world's king—the strongest in the world…" His lips curled into a snarl. "Stolen… by a sixteen-year-old boy?!"

The captain's body trembled violently, and his breath hitched. Giovanni's cold glare intensified as Persian's claws dug in deeper. The pressure was too much—his body went limp as he passed out, the sharp scent of urine filling the room.

Persian stepped back elegantly as Giovanni's gaze remained dark and unrelenting. Without a word, Giovanni's foot shot forward, kicking the unconscious captain across the floor.

"I WANT MY POKETRIX!!!" Giovanni's furious roar echoed through the room, shaking the walls with the sheer force of his rage.

Rex was sitting in the middle of the vast land behind Professor Oak's lab. It was gigantic—stretching out as far as the eye could see—and yet Oak shamelessly called it his backyard, as if it were some tiny patch of grass. Rex leaned back on his elbows, his gaze fixed on the strange device strapped to his wrist.

The Poketrix.

It gleamed faintly under the sunlight, the metallic sheen reflecting in Rex's eyes. His finger traced the edges of the red Pokéball symbol on its surface as his thoughts swirled.

"So… are you gonna try using it?"

Rex jumped slightly at the voice behind him. Turning his head, he saw Daisy standing there with her hands behind her back, a curious smile playing on her lips.

"Geez, don't sneak up on me like that," Rex muttered, sitting up straighter. "I mean… I want to try it, but… is that even okay?"

Daisy tilted her head thoughtfully. "What's there to be afraid of? Gramps didn't say you can't use it. He only said to use it for good, not evil."

Rex sighed, his gaze drifting back to the Poketrix. 'Yeah… but still…'

After a moment, he nodded to himself and pressed the red button besides the dial. The Pokéball symbol on the device shot up and opened with a mechanical whir, revealing a small circular screen. A silhouette of Infernape flashed onto it.

"Huh…" Rex's brow furrowed. He touched the edge of the Pokeball symbol and gave it a light turn. To his surprise, the silhouette changed.

"Whoa…" Daisy leaned closer, eyes widening.

Rex spun the Pokeball symbol again, watching as the silhouette shifted with each turn. He counted as he turned—one, two, three… until the silhouette of Infernape returned, completing the rotation.

"Ten," Rex murmured. "Including Infernape… that's ten transformations."

He hesitated for a second before turning the dial back to the second silhouette. His heart pounded as he pressed the Pokéball symbol down.

A bright red light erupted from the Poketrix, engulfing Rex's body.

"Ah—!" Daisy stumbled back, shielding her eyes from the intense glow.

Rex felt it immediately—his bones shifted and reshaped, his body becoming leaner and more agile. Orange and white fur sprouted across his skin, and his hands and feet hardened into wolf-like claws. A white tail grew behind him, and four sharp spikes jutted from his neck like a collar. A harpoon-shaped spike appeared on his forehead. His eyes turned bright green as his senses sharpened. His clothes also changed into the black bodysuit again, this time hugging his wolf like body tightly. The poketrix badge appeared on one of his legs.

When the light faded, Daisy opened her eyes and gasped.

"Rex… you're a Lycanroc!"

Rex turned his head toward her, blinking. "Lycanroc?"

"But…" Daisy's eyes narrowed. "You look… different."

Professor Oak's voice cut through the moment. "That's because he's a Lycanroc Dusk Form."

Both Rex and Daisy whipped their heads toward Oak, who was standing calmly behind them with his arms crossed.

"W-When did you—"

Oak smiled faintly. "It's the rarest form of Lycanroc. A Rockruff can only evolve into this form at dusk under very specific conditions."

"But…" Rex's brow furrowed. "Were you spying on us!?"

Oak's smile twitched. He sweatdropped. 'Was I this dumb when I was a teenager?' he thought.

Rex took a shaky step forward and nearly stumbled—but to his surprise, his body adjusted naturally to walking on all fours.

Oak's eyes glinted with intrigue. "Interesting. The transformation must transfer the Pokémon's instincts and muscle memory to you."

Rex's ears twitched. He crouched low, the instinct to run bubbling under his skin. Without thinking, he bolted forward, his claws digging into the earth as he sprinted across the field. A wild grin split his face.

Daisy sweatdropped. "Why is he acting like a dog Pokémon?"

Oak chuckled. "It's the instincts of the Pokémon whose DNA he's transformed into."

Rex slowed to a stop, his tongue hanging out slightly. He grinned. 'Alright, let's test this out!'

"Accelerock!"

His body blurred as he shot toward a pile of rocks, crashing into them and sending debris flying.

"Hah!" Rex skidded to a stop, his chest heaving.

He crouched again, eyes glinting. "Rock Tomb!"

Large stones materialized around him before shooting toward the ground, slamming into the field and leaving small craters in their wake. Rex leapt onto one of the rocks, grinning at Daisy and Oak—who were now holding a camera and notebook.

Oak scribbled furiously. Daisy adjusted the camera's focus.

"Hey! You two are supposed to be watching, not filming!"

Oak ignored him. "How do you feel?"

Rex stretched his limbs, tail swishing behind him. "Different. Each transformation feels… unique. When I was an Infernape, I felt excited—like I wanted to fight anything that moved. And fire type energy… it felt like an explosion, like I was burning from the inside, ready to unleash it."

He tapped his claws against the rock beneath him. "But this… rock-type energy… it feels steady. Strong. Like I'm rooted to the ground, solid and calm."

Daisy's pen scratched across the notebook. "This is incredible… We're gathering a completely new field of research here!"

Oak hummed thoughtfully, his gaze sharpening. 'The Poketrix… it's truly a tool that could revolutionize the understanding of Pokémon and their abilities.' His eyes darkened slightly. 'So why… why did you betray me, old friend…?'

A beeping sound interrupted his thoughts. The red glow of the Poketrix dimmed as Rex's body began to shift back. The light faded, leaving Rex standing in his human form, the Pokéball symbol on the Poketrix now gray.

Rex stretched his arms. "Ten minutes, huh?"

Oak nodded. "Yes. We installed that limiter to prevent the wielder's DNA from destabilizing. As you grow more accustomed to the transformations, the time limit will gradually increase."

Rex rubbed the back of his head. "What about the recharge time?"

"Five minutes," Oak answered. "For now."

Rex smirked. "Good to know."

Daisy bounced excitedly. "So… which one are you gonna try next?"

Rex's eyes gleamed. "Maybe Infernape again?"

Daisy scowled. "You already tried that one! I didn't get enough data!"

Rex grinned, already reaching for the Poketrix. Oak smiled faintly as he watched them bicker.

'At least Rex seems to be a good wielder for it… unlike you…'

It was now nighttime. The moonlight cast a pale glow over the empty fields of the outskirts of pallet town, broken only by the presence of a dark truck parked near the tree line. Inside the truck, two Rocket grunts sat tensely, their hands trembling as they glanced toward the reinforced doors at the back.

"D-Do we really have to let this thing out?" one grunt stammered, his voice shaking with fear. "What if it… eats us!?"

The other grunt wasn't any calmer, but he forced himself to put on a tough face. "It's Boss Giovanni's orders," he said, though his voice lacked conviction. "We don't have a choice."

The first grunt swallowed hard, his hand hovering over a large red button on the dashboard. "So… we open the doors, and as soon as it's out—"

"Hit the gas and get the hell out of here," the second grunt finished. He nodded towards the button. "Do it."

With a deep breath, the first grunt closed his eyes and pressed the button.

With a mechanical hiss, the truck's back doors creaked open. Cold night air rushed inside, carrying the sound of a low, menacing growl. A pair of red eyes gleamed from the darkness within. Slowly, heavy footsteps echoed as something massive stepped out of the truck.

The instant it was out, both grunts screamed, "GO!"

The driver slammed on the accelerator. The tires screeched, kicking up dirt and gravel as the truck sped off into the night.

Left behind in the darkness was a looming figure, bathed in moonlight. Its glowing red eyes narrowed as it turned toward Pallet Town. A deep, guttural growl rumbled from its throat as it began to move forward, its gaze locked on the town in the distance.

Rex was sitting in his apartment room, which he had rented in Pallet Town. He had just finished dinner and was about to go to sleep when a deafening explosion shook the entire building. His eyes shot open, and he immediately dashed toward the window.

"What the hell?!" Rex muttered, eyes widening in shock.

Through the glass, he saw the central area of Pallet Town engulfed in flames. Thick black smoke curled toward the night sky, illuminated by the orange glow of raging fires. Panic filled the streets as people ran for safety, and the distant sound of shouting and Pokémon cries filled the air.

Rex didn't waste a second. He grabbed his jacket, threw it on, and sprinted out of his apartment toward the chaos.

---

At the central area, the scene was pure chaos. Firefighters with their water-type Pokémon were desperately trying to put out the flames. The crackle of fire mixed with the cries of panicked civilians as officers and their Pokémon surrounded the source of the destruction—a massive Druddigon.

But something was wrong with it. Its body was cloaked in a dark aura, and its normally fierce eyes glowed an unnatural, angry red. It snarled and lashed out with its claws, ignoring the water and rock-type moves being thrown at it. What was worse—it was healing. The dark aura surrounding it pulsed, mending the damage from every attack.

Professor Oak arrived at the scene with Daisy close behind. Oak's eyes widened as he took in the destruction.

"Officer Jenny!" Oak called as he approached. "What is happening here?!"

Jenny, sweat running down her face, turned to Oak. "A Druddigon appeared out of nowhere and started attacking! But… something is seriously wrong with it!"

Daisy's eyes narrowed as she observed the Druddigon. "How did a Druddigon even get here?" she asked, her voice sharp with suspicion.

Oak's expression darkened. "This wasn't a coincidence…" he murmured. "Someone did this on purpose. But who?"

Suddenly, Druddigon let out a powerful roar and shot a beam of Dragon Breath toward the officers' Pokémon. The blast struck hard, sending them flying and knocking them out instantly. Officer Jenny and the others shielded their eyes as the smoke cleared, revealing the berserk Druddigon standing defiantly amid the chaos.

"Return!" Jenny called, quickly recalling her fainted Pokémon into their Poké Balls. Her hands trembled as she stared at the raging Druddigon.

"Is this thing unstoppable?" she whispered.

Just then, Rex skidded to a stop beside Oak and Daisy, panting. "What's happening?!"

Daisy quickly filled him in as Rex's gaze locked onto Druddigon. His eyes narrowed. Despite the Pokémon's furious attacks and overwhelming strength… Rex could see it clearly.

"It's in pain," Rex said softly. His hands clenched into fists. "That dark aura… It's not just making it stronger—it's hurting it!"

Daisy's eyes widened. "Then… what do we do?"

Rex grit his teeth as Druddigon roared again, its claws slamming into the ground and sending debris flying.

"Screw secrecy!" Rex growled.

He reached for the Poketrix on his wrist and pressed the red button. The Poké Ball dial shot out and spun rapidly.

Daisy's eyes widened. "Wait, Rex! Are you seriously—?"

"It's hero time!" Rex shouted.

A flash of red light burst from the Poketrix, engulfing Rex's body. The entire area was bathed in crimson light as everyone shielded their eyes from the intense glow.

Rex's body stood straight as his bones expanded and shifted. Cold air radiated from his body as his skin was replaced with gleaming, icy blue crystals. His clothes melted away, replaced by a sleek black bodysuit. Ice formed intricate patterns across his body, and the temperature around him plummeted. The poketrix badge appeared on his chest.

When the light finally faded, everyone stared in shock. Even Officer Jenny and the police officers froze.

"H-He… He turned into a Pokémon?!"

Oak and Daisy, however, were struck speechless for a different reason.

"A… Regice?" Oak whispered.

Standing where Rex once was, now towered Regice—a Legendary Pokémon. Its body of ice reflected the light from the fires as a chilling mist rolled off its frame. The yellow dots on its face glowed ominously.

Rex's voice echoed through the crystal body.

"Regice!"
