Prologue

Japan, nicknamed as "The Land of the Rising Sun," is the easternmost country in the world, consisting of an island archipelago where around 125 million people reside. It boasts a rich cultural heritage and stands as a significant economic force in Asia.

Life for its citizens may seem like a typical existence, but beneath the surface lies a carefully curated reality that has been maintained for over a thousand years.

Hidden from the public eye are creatures known as cursed spirits, which arise from a source of energy called cursed energy, present in every human being throughout history.

While most individuals possess only a minuscule amount of this energy, some are born with remarkable levels, allowing them to harness and utilize it in unique ways.

These individuals are known as jujutsu sorcerers, and not everyone has the potential to become one.

The phrase "All men are created equal" is a bald-faced lie.

Jujutsu sorcerers are responsible for preserving peace and protecting humanity from the threats posed by cursed spirits. Their numbers differ from one nation to another, but Japan is home to most of these sorcerers. Here, the study of cursed energy flourishes, leading to the establishment of dedicated schools and a government department aimed at training young sorcerers.

Among these sorcerers are ancient clans that have existed for centuries, nurturing some of the most skilled practitioners. The three dominant clans that essentially govern the jujutsu realm are the Zen'in clan, the Gojo clan, and the Kamo clan.

It's no surprise that these clans often clash in their quest for power and supremacy in the jujutsu world, employing harsh and ruthless methods to gain an advantage over one another.

Every clan has its own distinct abilities referred to as "Cursed Techniques," which are passed down through generations. All three clans boast powerful techniques that distinguish them from one another.

While the scales of power have seldom tipped entirely in favor of one clan, everything changed dramatically on a pivotal day, April 1st, 1985.

That was the day Subaru Gojo entered the world.

He was a child who had, in every sense, won the genetic lottery. He inherited both the Gojo clan's cursed technique known as "Limitless" and the inheritableattribute called the "Six Eyes."

The "Limitless" granted him the ability to manifest the concept of "infinity" in reality, allowing him to manipulate space at will. Meanwhile, the "Six Eyes" provided him with exceptional perception, enabling him to see the unseen, such as the flow of cursed energy, and to gain insights into any anomalies he encountered.

It earned the nickname "Eye of the All-Seeing God" for a good reason.

One might assume that with such extraordinary gifts, this boy would lead a life of contentment.

However, that couldn't be further from the truth.

Regarded as more a weapon than a human being, the Gojo clan quickly subjected him to intense training to prepare him to lead the clan. He had no childhood to speak of.

Due to his exceptional abilities, other sorcerers feared him, and while most of his relatives sought to win his favor, they showed little genuine care for him. As a result, Subaru Gojo grew up feeling quite isolated.

He once had a friend, the most vibrant part of his life, filled with memories he wished he could hold onto and enjoy… But, as is often the case, all good things must come to an end.

Ultimately, what Subaru Gojo desired was not fame, wealth, or even the attention of women, who seemed to flock to him.

What he truly longed for was a chance to live a normal life.

"Aww, I was really hoping you guys would have made a stronger impression at first, but I guess I was expecting too much from a group of first-grade spirits". A figure stood in the middle of an open football field.

Wearing the classic jujutsu high uniform, he sported a black and orange zip-up jacket featuring a high collar, along with slim black pants accented with orange lining and coordinating black boots. His lean build, smooth skin, and striking snow-white hair were further enhanced by black sunglasses that hid his eyes.

This twenty year old was Subaru Gojo, the "Pride of the Gojo Clan", a title he didn't particularly enjoy.

"Well, I guess I'll just head home then…" he remarked, casually strolling away from the scene after lifting his curtain. His first stop was the convenience store, where he intended to grab some of the most divine condiment known to mankind.

Ketchup.

After leaving the store and dodging a few persistent teenage girls, Subaru found himself back at the place he wished he could escape: the Gojo estate.

Standing in front of the estate was none other than Kenchi Gojo, his grandfather and his unofficial mentor in clan politics and the jujutsu world. He was an annoying figure, but somewhat bearable compared to the rest of the family.

'Looks like the old man's in a bad mood,' Subaru thought, noticing the irritation etched on his grandfather's face. 'Probably got something to do with that meeting.' he snickered to himself.

"Hey, Gramps!"

"Subaru—"

"Bye, Gramps!"

As he walked past his grandfather, Subaru could feel the annoyance bubbling up, with his eyebrows twitching in response. He was definitely not happy.

'Eh, I'll deal with him later,' he chuckled to himself, making his way through the estate's halls, where maids bowed deeply as he passed, treating him like a deity.

"Why do they always do this? I keep telling them to stop, but they never listen." With a huff, Subaru entered the dining area and, to his relief, found that none of the "kiss-ups," as he called them, were around. Instead, he spotted one of the few people he genuinely liked—his cousin.

"Ayy, Satoru! How's it going?" Subaru plopped down the ketchup next to Satoru.

He resembled Subaru closely, sharing the same hair color and similar facial features, but his brown eyes set him apart from Satoru's striking blue ones, a gift from the six eyes.

"Subaru! Great to see you again, bro. How was the mission?" Satoru asked. Although he hadn't inherited any clan techniques, he was a formidable sorcerer in his own right, having achieved special-grade status at just sixteen, much like Subaru.

In fact, Subaru thought that with Satoru's talent, he could easily become a worthy rival, even a close second to him.

"Boring. just the usual routine: go to x, Kill spirit y, and report back," Subaru replied, pulling out some french fries from the oven and settling in beside his cousin.

"That's a relief! I can only imagine the chaos if Subaru freaking Gojo came across what he would consider a "Strong" spirit," Satoru chuckled.

They enjoyed a moment of silence, with Subaru relishing the fries while Satoru lazily scrolled through his phone. Said silence would then be broken in the most tactless way possible.

"By the way, weren't you supposed to track down Geto? Why are you still here?" Subaru asked bluntly, instantly regretting it as he noticed Satoru flinch at the mention.

Subaru had heard about the star plasma vessel incident and how it ended in disaster, along with Geto's subsequent descent into madness, destroying an entire village.

Since then, Satoru had been quieter and more somber, which worried Subaru about his cousin's state of mind.

"I did look for him, but the lead went nowhere. I'll keep searching tomorrow," Satoru replied, and Subaru nodded in understanding.

He gave his cousin a reassuring pat on the shoulder. "Hey, I know this has hit you hard, and I just want you to know I'm here for you. I'm sure Shoko and the jujutsu hight teachers are too."

This brought a faint smile to Satoru's face. "Yeah, you're right. Thanks, man."

"Don't mention it! Anyway, I'll be in my room, okay? Ciao!" he exclaimed, dashing out just as an enraged grandpa walked in.

"Subaru! I heard what happened at the meeting, you little—" he stopped mid-sentence when he realized Subaru was gone. He let out a loud sigh and rubbed his wrinkled face, clearly worn out from dealing with the antics of the clan's heir.

"Satoru, aren't you going to say anything about this?" he asked the clan's second strongest, only to get a shrug in reply.

Kenchi Gojo could only shake his head, lamenting how these two were becoming more alike. What a hassle...

---------------------------------

"When I mentioned I'd be in my room, I didn't mean for you to just barge in like that." Subaru looked at Satoru, who was halfway through the window.

"Am I not allowed to hang out with my favorite cousin?" Satoru grinned.

"I'm not really a favorite if I'm the only one your age. Plus, the door's unlocked; why go through the window?" Subaru replied.

"Because it makes for a more dramatic entrance! You wouldn't understand," Satoru said with a playful smirk.

He strolled over to Subaru, who was sprawled on his bed, engrossed in a manga. "What are you reading?" he leaned in, trying to sneak a peek, but Subaru pushed his face away.

"Death Note. You'd know if you bothered to read the cover for once," Subaru shot back with a hint of sarcasm.

"So you just read manga all day instead of going out? No wonder you don't have a girlfriend," Satoru chuckled at his cousin's annoyance.

"Hey! I believe in 'love at first sight,' thank you very much! And what about you? Shouldn't you have a girlfriend by now?" Subaru retorted.

"I'm only sixteen! I have my whole life ahead of me. Meanwhile, you're getting older every day. Soon, you'll be a grumpy old grandpa like Kenchi," Satoru teased, and they both shared a laugh.

"Seriously, why are you here? I doubt you came just to talk about my love life," Subaru said, flipping to the next page.

"You're right. I came to check on you. You went outside for a moment then came back looking a bit grumpy, like grandpa," Satoru remarked.

"It's nothing too important, just the usual lecture about jujutsu society and respecting elders. Boring stuff," Subaru snorted.

"If it's that bad, why not just… I don't know, run away? No one can stop you," Satoru suggested, Subaru raised an eyebrow. Where did that come from?

"You know I can't do that. The higher-ups wouldn't allow it, and it would hurt a lot of people. Plus, there's already a shortage of jujutsu sorcerers; they need all the help they can get to fight off cursed spirits. I can't let my selfishness cause harm to anyone."

"Wanting what's best for you isn't selfish, Subaru," he replied.

"But it is. And what about you, Satoru? You realize that if I just walk away, all the responsibility of the clan would fall on you. Actually, it would be for the entire jujutsu society since you're the second strongest."

"I wouldn't mind it."

This caught Subaru's attention immediately. "Really?"

"Yeah, really," Satoru said, sitting down on the bed beside his cousin. "You see, I have a dream—"

"When it comes to you, a nightmare would be a more fitting term."

Satoru brushed off his cousin's jab and continued. "I want to transform the jujutsu society, Subaru. I want to get rid of those senile bastards who make our lives miserable. To them we're just puppets to be used and discarded when we serve our purpose, and it pisses me off!"

Satoru's gaze locked onto Subaru's six eyes. "This is what you always wanted, isn't it? To bring a breath of fresh air to the jujutsu society?"

Subaru looked away. "I mean—yeah, I do. But a lot of people would get hurt if I went through with it. That's not something I want."

Satoru sighed at this. "Dude, you're way too forgiving for your own good. You don't have to sacrifice yourself just to make others happy, you know? You deserve to be happy too. Be selfish for once."

Subaru removed his glasses and stared at his cousin with wide eyes, as if what he just heard was completely new to him. A smirk then crept onto his face.

"Since when did you become the wise one, huh?"

"When this lazy bum decided to read manga like a weeb." Subaru chuckled at this. He closed his manga and stood up.

"Where are you going?"

"To the convenience store."

"Why? Didn't you just go there a few hours ago?"

"I'm going to buy some ramen and put ketchup on top." Satoru gagged loudly at that.

"You nasty bitch! Forget everything I said, go to hell, subaru!" The six-eyed user laughed maniacally and teleported in a flash.

---------------------------------

Subaru strolled through the streets of Tokyo, a plastic bag in hand filled with his latest finds: instant ramen, some chips, a soda, and, of course, ketchup.

As the sun dipped closer to the horizon, it bathed the surroundings in a warm orange hue. This part of town was unusually quiet, with hardly any cars passing by, making it an ideal spot for capturing beautiful photos.

However, Subaru was oblivious to the serene scene around him. His thoughts were lost in a loop, replaying the conversation he had with Satoru. "You deserve happiness as well."

That phrase echoed in his mind, feeling both strange and familiar. Deep down, it was exactly what Subaru yearned for—true happiness.

Yet, his unique situation complicated things, with heavy expectations and responsibilities weighing him down. He never sought after status, wealth, or power.

All he truly desired was to lead a simple, ordinary life, surrounded by friends and family, blending into the background like any other.

With a heavy sigh, Subaru rubbed his eyes, feeling the strain of his thoughts. "Ugh, all this overthinking is giving me a headache. I'll just deal with it tomorrow."

As Subaru walked, an unsettling feeling crept over him. The cursed energy he usually sensed from other humans was absent. It was as if reality itself was bending around him, space twisting and being drawn in an unfamiliar direction by an unseen force.

A dull ache began to pulse in his head, quickly followed by a sharp pain and an overwhelming brightness. What the hell was going on?

Years of training and instinct kicked in; it was evident he was under some kind of attack, and his life could be in jeopardy if they could approach him so stealthily.

The blinding light gradually faded, replaced by a familiar…warmth?

Was that from the sun? Hadn't it just been evening?

Subaru snapped his eyes open, only to be met with a shocking sight. The quiet streets of modern Japan had vanished, replaced by the feel of cobblestones beneath him and buildings that echoed a medieval past.

The silence was overtaken by a cacophony of chatter and noise, as the once-empty streets buzzed with life, filled with people dressed in attire from a bygone era.

Some were humans, much like those in Japan, while others resembled walking, talking animals of various sizes and characteristics. It was a scene that seemed to leap straight from the pages of a fantasy novel.

Amidst all this stood a stunned Subaru, his mouth agape in disbelief. Anyone glancing beneath his glasses would see the astonishment etched on his face.

He blinked, pinched himself hard, and when nothing changed, he placed his hand on his chest, feeling the rapid beat of his heart.

'I'm not dreaming or dead… So that means…'

"I've been summoned to another world!"

Yo! It's been some time, hasn't it? For those who don't know me, I'm the author of "Demon Slayer: The Demon Hunter." I haven't updated the story in about a month because I needed a break due to burnout. In the meantime, I've chosen to work on this new project until I regain my motivation to continue the other one.
