The Visit

THE VISIT AS HALLIE TORRE

Logan smirked when he saw the look on Hallie's face. She was frowning deeply z her hands against her chest as she stared at him hatefully.

"Do you really think that's funny?" She eyed him and he chuckled darkly.

"As usual, Edna still makes you creep out." He said and her frowned deepened as darkness clouded her eyes.

"So you think using Edna to make me feel insecure is right?" She shot, angrily. Angry about the fact that all she could be called for was to bruise Hallie's ego. Ooh, how her revenge was going to be so deep if they really thought she was still Hallie.

Logan just stared at her blankly before pointing into his walk-in wardrobe.

"Your dress is too tight. You can change into something free in there."

She glanced at the door and then back at him, "you have female things?" She asked and he cocked his head.

"Go and see yourself." He muttered.

Hallie scoffed and turned, going into the wardrobe. Her dress was really tight from the food she had stuffed and she was very uncomfortable. How cool of Logan to think about her and help her situation? Very sarcastic!

"He doesn't even have female wears." She muttered, staring at the organized wardrobe. There were different standing hangers for different types of clothes. A row for suits of different colours, another for only white shirts, another for black, some for shorts and other things, very peculiar and attentive of him.

She stared at the arranged rows of watches in the glass shows and then male earrings which she had seen him wear sometimes, something that added to his dark and cool appearance.

Shoes.

Hallie's mouth fell open as she stared at the arrangements of shoes on the shelf. Many of them looked alike, so why the hell was he keeping them.

"Aren't you done?" His voice came ringing and she rolled her eyes, annoyed that her wandering had been cut short. She picked one of his white shirts, changing into it.

"Don't you have anything I can wear under this?" She brought her head out of the door and Logan glanced at her, before strolling into the room.

"Hey, I'm not dressed up fully yet." She said.

"At least, the essentials are covered." He said, glancing at her. The essentials were truly covered and the real Hallie had no problem wearing the white shirt out since it stopped below her butt, but Edna had never been used to that.

Logan took a black knee length short like the one he was wearing and threw it to her.

"You can wear this." He said and she blinked, "Wear this?" She asked, raising the short up with two fingers.

"Under this?"

"I know you are good with fashion and all that, but there's literally nothing for you unless you take the top too and drop my white shirt." He said.

"That's better. Now excuse me."

"This is my house." He replied cockily.

"Then do you expect me to dress in front of you?" She raised a brow and he shrugged, "Looks like we really have to get married. I would soon see everything sooner than later." He smirked and walked close to her,. making her take a step back instinctively,.till she got hooked by the shoe shelves.

"You made.a promise, Hallie. That you would nullify this marriage. Yet, you haven't done anything."

"I....I...made..a... promise..li..like that?" She stuttered, feeling very uncomfortable under his sharp gaze.

"Hmm." He grunted in response and she bit her lips slowly. How was she to break.the marriage plan. Thinking about it, it didn't favour her too. She didn't know how long she was going to be stuck in Hallie's body and she didn't want to be stuck with Logan during that period. She couldn't act lovey dovey the way he and Hallie did.

"Okay, fine. I'll do everything I can." She said and he raised a brow.

"So you forgot about it?" He asked.

"Not that. It's just a lot of things had been happening...."

"Like murder?" He interrupted and she immediately went mute, her face darkening. His lips widened into a smile as he stared at her and he smirked.

"Stay safe, Hallie. You don't know might reveal your secret." He said.

"What?" She raised her brow.

"I'm just saying." He patted her shoulder and turned, leaving the room.

Hallie gasped for breath as soon as he left and she held her chest to steady herself. What was wrong with him? Throughout her life at Phoenix Academy, Logan had never behaved so irrationally to her. Perhaps, that was why they thought he was so cool. Stupid of them.

She removed the white shirt and got dressed in the black singlet top and shorts, something relatively close to what Logan was putting on and the thought of that made her cringe again.

But what could she do? It was more comfortable than her tight dress, at least, until she didn't feel that stuffed anymore.

Logan wasn't in the room, so she just place her cloth into a paper bag she got in his wardrobe and walked downstairs. Only to see the breaking news that read the headline.

*PRINCIPAL HOWART OF PHOENIX ACADEMY INVOLVED IN A TRAGIC ACCIDENT THAT TOOK HIS LIFE.*

Her heart beat fast in her chest, her breathing quickened as she stared at the TV in shock.

Principal Howart was dead.

A small chuckle escaped from President Jacob lips and Hallie looked at him, her head turning as if controlled by a remote. She suddenly felt hot. And scared.

Principal Howart was dead, because he knew. He knew Hallie had killed her. He knew the truth and was someone who could use it for his personal gain, so he was killed to keep the secret. He was silenced and slowly, one by one, every other person who knew the truth would be silenced too.

Blood rushed to her head and she could feel her eyes become bloodshot and her head vibrated. The laughter was heard in her head.

President Jacob was chuckling, Tom Torre was smiling endlessly, Rita's face was contorted but signs of relaxation were on them, Helena looked calm and composed, Gray stared at the TV, surprised and Logan....Logan was staring at her with no readable expression on his face.

Who killed him?

Jacob Alston?

Tom Torre?

One of the mothers trying to protect their children?

Gary trying to protect his sister?

Or Logan, trying to seal the truth for what reason?

There was no one to trust.

'Edna!'

'Edna, please, stay awake. I can't come out now.' Hallie pleaded.

'Edna!!'

"Dad, what the h*ll happened to Principal Howart?" Her voice was shaky, her hands fisted and clinging to her side tightly.

"Hallie..." Tom called, seeing the way she was shaking, her head was spinning. God, she was going to faint. Edna had to come back to this body. She didn't want it anymore, she didn't want to be Hallie anymore. She didn't want to be Hallie Torre anymore.

'Edna, please.'

"Let's go home." Helena said hurriedly and Gary nodded, holding Hallie by the arms.

"Goodbye, Mr Jacob." Tom had no choice but to take his daughter home is she was being so gullible.

"I'm really sorry for this." He apologized and Jacob shook his head, a smile on his face.

"It's good for little girls to be cute. They appreciate security and safety." He smiled and Tom chuckled, shaking him before they finally took their leave.

Logan walked up to his room immediately and walked towards the window, staring at the Torre's before they finally drove out of the large compound. A smirk appeared from his lips as he picked a burner phone from his drawer and dialed the only number on it.

"Good job." He said on the phone the moment the recipient picked up and he heard a sigh.

"I didn't do it, boss. I'm in Howart's house right now to assassinate him and that's when I saw the news. I have no idea who killed him."

Logan scoffed lightly, fisting his hand as he held the phone tightly, a snarl appearing on his face.

"That means there's someone in the game with us."
