"Normal?" She whispered and smiled a little, "Do you think anyone would be normal after killing someone? I don't think so."
"Edna was not important. She's not important enough for you to keep on acting crazy, Hallie. How many times do you want me to say this to you before you get it into your head?"
Her eyes turned glassy as she scoffed lightly, running her palm over her face. "She's not important?" She asked.
Gary walked closer to her, grabbing her by the shoulders violently. "Yes, Hallie. We are on top of the world, can you see? In this place, the poor can be trampled upon." He said.
She blinked, a tear running out of her eyes. She wished for nothing less than one thing right now, to smash his head against the wall. Watch him bleed to death.
She wasn't evil. All she wanted to be great, rich and live a life of powerful but what did she think....how could she ever compare them? They've got everything she would and could never have. What exactly was she thinking?
"You are right. She's not important. I'm the important one."
It wasn't her character, it was what she was forced to do. If everything thought she wasn't important, then she was going to show them that she was the only important one now. She was in Hallie's body. That was something no one would ever find out, well, except Logan.
Gary nodded his head numerous times before he pulled her into a tight hug. "Even if everyone leaves you, Hallie. I'm your brother, I'll stay with you till the fvcking end."
"Would you go to prison?" She managed to ask slowly and he pulled back, staring at her.
"If this gets leaked, would you go to prison with me? It'll be so scary without you in there." She muttered. He smiled as he held her hands in his.
"Wherever you go, Hallie. I'll be right behind you." He said seriously and she nodded her head once.
After Gary left her room, she folded her hands slowly, staring at the closed white door.
'Crazy,' she breathed out, 'Your brother loves you so much.'
'Leave Gary alone. He's not into all this!' Hallie's voice came out in her head and she pursed his lips.
'He said he would accompany you, you don't have to be scared.'
'Pleas....' Hallie's voice suddenly trailed off and Edna furrowed her brows sharply.
'Hallie?'
'Hallie?'
'Hallie, are you alright?'
'I think I'm fading.' Hallie suddenly whispered and Edna's eyes widened.
'What?' She muttered.
'I think I'm fading, Edna. Am I dying? Am I leaving?!'
'What the h*ll are you talking about?' Edna was swiftly shifting into panic mode.
'Your voice is so far away, Edna...I can't...I can't hear you....'
Edna paused.
She waited for a second.
She felt empty.
She felt weird.
Lost.
Confused.
It wasn't meant to be like this. She was meant to recognize everything. Know everything, feel perfect. But why does she feel so I familiar in this body. Why did the memories of Hallie suddenly seem blank?
"Hallie." She whispered.
There was no reply.
Her eyes widened. She realized.
"Oh fvck!"
*****
"What the h*ll is this?" Her eyes widened as she watched the video and she looked at Kozette. Just some days ago, Principal Howart died mysteriously and she was yet to find out the culprit. Then Hallie fvcking left her own body to spirit knows where and now, someone who wasn't her was threatening Kozette into spilling the truth. It was all too much for her to take in just a week. She needed time to arrange every single thing and plan her revenge meticulously. So who was ruining it for her and for what purpose?
Logan.
He is the only one who knows about her.
"Don't do what this person says? Pay him off. You guys do that right?" She was testing for the last time if it wasn't Logan.
"He doesn't want money. He wants me to confess the truth about Edna's death. I can't do that. Our whole lives would be ruined."
Yes. She agreed. It would totally be ruined, because she had no idea how to leave this body and Hallie wasn't in it to get her punishment. So what was the point?
"Don't...listen to him. Just wait a moment."
"Hallie, I cannot -"
"Then what do you want to do?! Reveal the truth. Same way, your life would be messed up. But isn't sex easier to twist than murder? You would soil your father's image, the company's and even your life. Listen to me , Kozette, you choose the better thing for yourself, until I say otherwise." She snatched the phone from Kozette's hands and wrote the number down in a piece of paper.
"Stay low." She muttered and walked away, holding her expensive back pack well.
She walked past the students who cleared the way for her and she sighed, unused to this kind of treatment.
"You look angry." Gary appeared from nowhere and hanged his hand on her neck.
"I'm angry." She gave a short reply.
"Why?" Gary couldn't help but asked and she scoffed lightly.
"Because a motherfvcker is trying to spoil my well crafted plan." She muttered, halting in her steps. The path cleared meticulously and strangely and her eyes got locked with Logan's.
"What plan?" Gary asked before he noticed whatever changed in the air at that moment. He turned, just enough to catch sight of Logan from the other side.
"When did you become like this for Logan?" Gary asked, his voice light but breaking.
"I don't really know." She muttered, her legs moving forward. Logan also started walking towards her.
Edna gulped. When had she realized that she was in love with Hallie's man? It wasn't even something she could think off. Thoughts like that were luxurious to her and too expensive to think about. She had drowned it by drinking expired juices and watching movies in her boss's shop. But right now, with him standing there. It looked like every thing returned.
But this time around, sh was Hallie Torre and she had a duel to settle with Logan right now.
"Follow me." She said as she walked past him, making Gary gasp.
"Fire." He whispered.
Logan bit his bottom lip tightly as he turned and followed....the queen.
