"Let's go that way," someone said. The calm, quiet atmosphere shifted as she heard a group of people approaching. Aurora quickly broke free from Dante's hands and pretended to be a stranger as her colleagues drew near.
"Come to the 5th floor after dinner your tablets are in my room," Dante said to Aurora, to which she nodded. He then left to avoid raising any suspicions.
Day 2 was over. "We only have one more day to enjoy, then it's all work," Liora said sadly as they returned to their room after dinner.
"I think I left my water bottle in the 5th-floor room. Let me go grab it real quick," Aurora said to Liora.
"Take the room keys with you. I'm a bit tired and might fall into a deep sleep before you get back," Liora replied. Aurora agreed and took the keys.
Aurora knocked on room 4001. Dante opened the door with a smile and welcomed her in, as if she were returning home.
"Um... the tablets, you said they were in your room, so..." Aurora started.
"So..." Dante teased her as he closed the door behind him.
"What so? I only came for the tablets," she said, taking a step back slowly as Dante approached her with a mischievous look, almost as if he were about to pounce. Aurora, her eyes closing in anticipation, glanced over at the desk, thinking, This is going to be a long night.
Just then, Dante grabbed the tablets from beside her, flicked her on the head, and chuckled. "Your tablets," he said, turning away and watching her flushed expression with amusement.
"Oh... yeah, thanks," Aurora stammered, grabbing the glass of water from the table to swallow the tablets.
Dante gestured for her to sit on the bed next to him. "Now that you've heard my story, can I hear yours?" he asked.
Aurora hesitated. She wanted to share, but nothing in her life seemed extraordinary. She glanced at Dante before saying, "I don't have anything extraordinary. I was born and raised in a happy middle-class family. I have a sister who's studying medicine. And that's it. Now I work in your company, boss." She smiled as she said it but then looked down at her feet, feeling like she was unqualified in comparison.
"But you're extraordinary to me," Dante said, his voice gentle. He smiled at her, but she kept her gaze fixed on her feet. "If there's anything bothering you, no matter how small, please let me know. You be my ear, and I'll do the same. Don't hold anything back. I love to hear from you. Do you get that?"
Finally, Aurora raised her head and looked at Dante. Her eyes were filled with tears. Dante could sense how much she had longed to hear those words. Without saying another word, she hugged him, burying her face in his chest. He kissed her head gently.
