"What took you so long? Where's the bottle?" Liora asked, still awake.
"Oh," Aurora replied, remembering the excuse she had given, "I searched for it in the room, at the registration desk, and just couldn't find it." She laid down on the bed next to Liora.
Day 3 passed smoothly, with Dante quietly ensuring Aurora took her morning and night tablets. As the trip drew to a close, the carefree atmosphere shifted back to the grind of work. Before they parted, Dante and Aurora exchanged numbers, an unspoken promise to stay connected, despite the busy days ahead. The trip may have ended, but something had shifted between them, and neither was ready to let go.

Nimbs Technology's team had arrived at Caldwell Innovations for further discussions and to fine-tune the collaboration project. With Director Victor Caldwell's absent, the senior manager of the division took charge, leading the meeting with enthusiasm and vision. Giselle and her team diligently took notes on the improvisations requested by Caldwell Innovations.
Meanwhile, Victor, early that day, fully prepared to meet Giselle, had instructed his secretary to cancel all his other appointments during the visit from Nimbs Technology. "I want to see everything happening right in front of me," an excuse he'd said. Just as he was preparing to head to the meeting around 11:45, his phone rang. It was his grandfather.
"Son, we have a urgent board meeting at noon. Don't forget, and make sure you're on time. This is on priority," his grandfather insisted.
Victor sighed. It dawned on him that he wouldn't be able to see Giselle after all.
As the meeting wrapped up, and the Nimbs Technology team began packing up to leave, Victor finally walked into his office at 1:05 PM. The meeting had been scheduled from 12 to 1 PM, but he had missed it. "Please inform the team lead of the project to see me in my chamber. I need to ensure she has all the requirements right," he instructed his secretary, who was waiting for him in the office.
His secretary nodded and left to relay the message.
"Was the board meeting finished early?" the reader might ask.
Writer smirks
"Nope," the writer replies, shaking her head. "Victor managed to convince his grandfather and left the meeting at 12:30 PM to rush over here. But of course, traffic had other plans, so the love-sick fool came running all the way to the office just to meet Giselle."
