I’m completely sober

She had seen him rush through the office building a few times over the past eight months, always trying to make time to meet her between his hectic schedule. He would act cool when they met, but she could always tell there was something more beneath the surface. After that one incident when she fainted from low blood sugar, he had been there for her, dropping a chocolate on her desk, making sure she was okay. He'd even carried her all the way to the nurse station in office that day and stayed by her side until she woke up. She knew, without a doubt, the concern and care he had for her.

She admired his leadership and elegance, too. Unknowingly, he had become a constant thought in her mind. Every time she passed a Caldwell Innovations banner or saw an advertisement, it was his face that came to her mind.

Getting up from the bed, she bent down to cover Victor with the blanket. But as soon as she did, he stirred, turning toward her. "You haven't slept yet?" he asked, his voice soft with concern. "Is something bothering you? Want some water?"

"No, I'm good," she said, her smile softening at his caring words.

Victor raised an eyebrow, teasing, "Were you trying to kiss me?" He gently nudged her, helping her sit up, and then sat up himself. "You can't kiss me until you're sober. The sober you... you'll never love me." He hadn't meant for it to sound so heavy. But that was the truth he had buried within himself, part of him had kept his distance, no matter how badly he'd wanted her.

His smile faltered, a touch of sadness in his eyes.

She gave him a sad smile, her eyes full of unspoken feelings. "I'm completely sober," she said softly, before leaning in, going all in for a kiss.

Victor's body tensed in surprise at first. The sensation was overwhelming, a rush of heat and longing that flooded him instantly. His hands found her waist, the world around them blurred. There was only the feel of her lips, the taste of her breath, and the overwhelming need that consumed him. He could feel her hands on his chest, tracing the lines of his body as if memorizing him, and it made him ache with want. It was everything he had dreamed of, and yet, it was still not enough. There was no hesitation now, no distance between them.

Her eyes met his, wide and full of emotion, and in that moment, Victor realized there was no turning back. This wasn't just a raw, passionate kiss ... it was everything they had been holding inside. And as their lips met again, deeper this time, more desperate, more intense, he knew that they were finally letting go.
