The air was electric with tension as Tien Shinhan faced off against Rayuga. The wind was still, and the only sound was the soft rustling of Rayuga's cloak.
Tien Shinhan's third eye focused intently on Rayuga, his arms crossed over his chest. "I've heard the rumors," Tien said sternly. "You're supposed to be something else. Let's see if you live up to it."
Rayuga responded with a casual stretch, a faint smirk playing on his lips. "You sure about this? I won't even need to go all out."
Tien flared his energy, the ground cracking beneath him as he charged forward, fists flying. Rayuga didn't move, his eyes fixed on Tien's attack.
The first punch came in fast, but Rayuga leaned just slightly to the side, letting it sail past his cheek. Then, with a single palm thrust to Tien's chest, he sent him sliding back across the dirt, heels carving deep trails in the earth.
Tien gritted his teeth, his eyes widening in surprise. "He's fast—no, it's like he's predicting me..." Tien launched into a flurry of rapid strikes, mixing in feints and acrobatics.
But Rayuga deflected each one with minimal effort, his movements economical and precise. Wrist blocks, subtle dodges, and counter taps left bruises forming under Tien's skin with every contact.
Tien leapt back, his breathing heavy, and screamed, "Tri-Beam!" The golden triangle of energy formed instantly and blasted down at Rayuga in a blaze of power.
The explosion rocked the area, sending smoke and debris flying. Tien breathed heavily, his eyes fixed on the spot where Rayuga had stood.
But as the dust cleared, Rayuga was still standing, hand outstretched, the center of his palm steaming slightly. "Nice try," Rayuga said calmly. "But that won't be enough."
Tien's eyes widened in disbelief. "He stopped it—barehanded?" Rayuga took a step forward, his calm demeanor now turning into pressure that weighed heavy on the battlefield...
Tien Shinhan steadied his breath, sweat running down his temple as he gazed at Rayuga with newfound respect. "He's not just strong... he's on a whole different level."
Rayuga cracked his knuckles lazily and took another step forward, his eyes fixed intently on Tien. "You've got heart, Tien. But heart alone won't cut it."
Tien roared and launched forward, fists glowing with energy. He split into four with the Multi-Form Technique, surrounding Rayuga from all sides.
The four Tiens attacked in unison, raining down blows from every direction. But Rayuga simply closed his eyes, his body moving in a blur of speed and precision.
In a single, fluid motion, Rayuga struck down all four clones simultaneously, each one collapsing to the ground in perfect sync. The real Tien gasped, holding his side as pain shot through him.
Rayuga appeared behind him in an instant, his voice calm and detached. "You're too slow." With a quick series of precise strikes, Rayuga sent Tien flying into the side of a cliff, cracking the rock upon impact.
Tien fell to one knee, coughing, barely able to keep himself upright. Rayuga walked toward him, not even winded from the exchange.
"I held back," Rayuga said, his voice matter-of-fact. "You're lucky I did." Tien looked up, beaten but proud. "I... I see now. You're the real deal."
Rayuga offered a hand, his expression unyielding. "You've got potential. But next time—train harder." Tien hesitated, then accepted the hand, his eyes locked on Rayuga's.
The fight was over, but the lesson was clear. Rayuga's base power alone was enough to crush one of Earth's strongest warriors, without even needing to tap into his Super Saiyan form...
The cold metallic chamber of the Saiyan space vessel hummed with energy, the command table surrounded by the elite warriors of the Saiyan Empire. Raditz stood with arms crossed, his scouter blinking as he scanned the data flickering before him.
"Earth, huh..." Raditz muttered, his voice laced with disdain. "Backwater planet, barely worth mentioning. But something's bothering me." Vegeta leaned back against the wall, his usual smugness evident in his posture.
