Chapter 2:DIVORCE PAPERS

TINA POV

I blinked my eyes rapidly, as I gazed at Drayton in amusement. 'Divorce Papers? My lips quivered as I opened the file in my hands, I was too speechless to utter a word. I skimmed through the documents and my eyes flashed with anger.

He cheated on me now he is asking for a divorce? Momentarily I imagined myself signing the divorce Papers and throwing them back at his face, but a thought made me pause. My baby, my unborn child, won't have a father. Where would I go if Drayton divorces me? I was insolvent and completely penniless.

"Sign it and give it to my lawyer. I never want to see your face again." His words shattered the remaining hope our marriage had. I remembered vividly how I went against my entire family just to be with him. My family disowned me because I chose to get married to Drayton without their consent. I loved him with all my heart and this was what I got?

I watched as Drayton trotted out of the office with his hands I'm his pocket. Immediately he left I released a breath I didn't know I had been holding. I let out the tears, allowing them to flow freely, I felt like screaming my lungs out as reality soon dawned on me.

Picking myself up, I wiped my tears away with my hand as I sniffed uncontrollably. Taking a hold of my purse I walked out of the office, trudging along the tiled floor. I didn't bother to take along the divorce Papers, this marriage might mean nothing to him, but it meant alot to me and my unborn child. I took the elevator to the ground floor and stepped out immediately as the elevator door slid open.

I increased my pace as I walked across the busy hall to the glass door, which was the exit door. But just before I could get to the exit door, something steamy washed over my back, I quaked with intense pain as the feeling burned. Turning around swiftly I saw the same lady that had walked out of Drayton's office, she had a coffee cup in her hand, but clearly she had just emptied the contents of my body.

"Oops, my bad." She said with no sincerity her voice. I shut my eyes in anguish as I clenched my fist, I was trying to control my anger. I flattered my eyes open as I composed myself, staring down at my dress, it was completely drenched and had a conspicuous stain. "You are going to regret ever doing this." I said with bitterness in my voice, the feeling of hatred I had towards this lady knew no bound.

"Oh really! She said and shrugged. "Make me." She said and I arched my brows alternatively. I was about to say something when a deep voice intruded. Fiona! Come here." It was Drayton's voice, I watched as Blondie turned away as she flicked her hair. Coming! She chorus smiling sheepishly. I felt disgusted, turning around and quickly made my way out of the building. I could hear giggles coming from all angles but I ignored, pushing pass the throng of people in my way, I finally found myself outside the building.

I made my way to my car, getting in I ignited the car but didn't drive instead I rested my head on the steering wheel and broke into another round of fresh tears. Why does this hurt? I asked myself as my hand clenched my chest. It was as if there was a knot stretching into a thin string in my heart.

I heard my belly grumble and immediately I sat up. I was aware that I haven't had any to eat since today, I had no appetite right now but for the sake of my unborn child I just had to get rid of this hunger. I drove out of the office arena and made my way to a restaurant. My car came into a halt In front of the restaurant and I signed heavily, this was the same restaurant Drayton and I had our first date. That was the most memorable day of my like, I literally felt on top of the world.

But now coming here felt like a burden, we had made so many memory here and it was beginning to haunt me, I still couldn't believe Drayton was asking for a divorce

Mustering some courage I stepped out of the car, and made my way to the door of the restaurant. Immediately I got to the door I felt like turning and running back but I held myself and nudged the door open. The smell of different cuisines hit my face and I remembered how hungry I was.

I walked up to a table at the corner and sat down. In a split second a waitress was by my side taking my orders. This was fancy restaurants and their dishes here were very expensive, but sumptuous. Fortunately I still had some money in my card, I ordered some Chinese noodles and the waitress took the orders and left. Soon she came back with what I ordered, suddenly staring at the food in front of me I still hadn't gain my appetite.

I forced some morsels into my mouth, but immediately felt sick. Pushing my chair backwards I stood up and quickly rushed to the restroom. I vomited everything I had eaten and suddenly felt dizzy, washing myself up. I came out of the restroom and made my way to the table to retrieve my purse. Just then someone bumped into me, his masculine frame almost knocking me down.

I struggled to keep my balance to prevent me from falling, immediately I gained my stability and I turned around sharply. "Mister, don't you know how to watch where you are going? I fumed and the strange stopped in his tracks. I was pissed off already, he was so pompous, the least he could do was apologize. I waited for the stranger to turn around but he didn't, instead he started walking away.

"Rich people and their bad habits." I said spitefully. It wouldn't kill him just to say sorry. I walked up to the table and grabbed my purse, just then I heard a voice from behind me. "What did you say? The voice was deep and enchanting, I felt cold chills running through my spine. Suddenly I could feel this overwhelming aura emitting from behind me.

I turned around sharply and my gaze rested on a handsome man in a tailored suit. I held my breath as I felt intimidated by his presence. "You were saying something." He said coming closer, his dark eyes devoid of emotions. Did he expect me to repeat what I had said? Because I was too tongue tied to utter a word. "Sir it's an emergency, we have to go." Another man in a grey coloured suit said as he ran in.

The man standing in front of me spared me one last glance then turned and walked away with the man in a grey suit. I took a step back as if lost in a trance, then I regained my composure. I walked out of the restaurant, and got into my car, I knew that my next destination was home. Well it didn't feel like home anymore, it felt like a empty space spoiled with riches.

The thought of going back to that mansion and spending the night under the same roof with that pervert made me sick. If only I had know, if only someone had warned me. I paused in my thoughts and rewind to my last statement. Someone did warn me, my best friend Daisy.

At this point I was immensed in guilt, lucidly remembering how Daisy had told me several times that she had caught Drayton with several women, but all I did was scold her and told her to mind her business. Eventually I severed all ties with her, not knowing she had been telling the truth all this while. I took out my phone and quickly dialed her number, but she wasn't answering her calls. I felt tears starting to whelmed up in my eyes as I dialed her number for the second time. I can believe I ditched my best friend, Daisy was the closest family I had, she was the only family I had after my family disowned me, and I pushed her away.

Slowly taking a turn at a street as I drove the car carelessly, I made my way to Daisy apartment. I kept dialing her number but she wasn't picking her calls. "Please answer your call Daisy." I bit my lips as I sobbed silently while driving. Immediately I got to where her apartment was located, I jumped out of my car but what I saw, left me stunned. I could see some people running around in a chaotic manner.

Daisy's apartment was on fire! "Oh my goodness, can someone do something? I screamed as tears rolled out of my eyes.
