Chapter 231: A Loyal Servant

Qiu Bai looked at Paimon, who was questioning him, and remained silent for a moment.

"To be honest, I also don't know what the Irminsul is..."

"From what I know, that tree should be in the Sumeru region."

Qiu Bai explained, looking at Paimon.

"My memories from a thousand years ago have long since disappeared."

"Moreover, the Archons and the other adepti memories have also vanished. They only have a sense of familiarity with me."

Qiu Bai crossed his arms and looked up at the bright moon in the sky, murmuring.

"But Qiu Bai, weren't you born a thousand years ago?"

Paimon asked, puzzled.

"Being born doesn't mean my memories remained."

He replied.

"I clearly remember that I was born from the yin and yang energies of heaven and earth."

Qiu Bai said after pondering for a moment, looking at Paimon.

He wondered if his memories were problematic, but he distinctly remembered, and if not for the system energy, he would have likely dissipated slowly.

"Could it be that Qiu Bai died once?"

Paimon said, unable to believe it.

"Hehe..."

Qiu Bai lightly laughed.

"This possibility is not excluded."

Because Qiu Yue was the primordial essence he left behind, born as a yin and yang god.

"But if Qiu Bai died once..."

Paimon scratched his head.

"Who could have been strong enough to defeat him back then?"

"Ugh~!"

Paimon shook his head.

"The more I think about it, the more my head hurts! Paimon brain can't handle this!"

"Qiu Bai..."

Lumine placed a hand on her chest, looking at Qiu Bai determinedly.

"We will definitely help you recover your memories."

"Mm..."

"There's no need to force it. I have a few clues now."

Qiu Bai smiled softly.

"This world mysteries are not so simple."

"Something that could erase the memories of all beings in Teyvat is unimaginable."

Lumine muttered, rubbing her chin.

Having traveled through several worlds, she had never encountered anything like this before.

"Hehe~"

Yae Miko looked at the group and laughed.

"Why think so much? A familiar guest is about to arrive at the Grand Narukami Shrine."

"Why are we suddenly going to receive a guest!"

Paimon complained.

"I don't understand you at all..."

"Hold onto me."

Qiu Bai said, nodding at the group.

In an instant, they were transported back to the Grand Narukami Shrine.

"Remember how I told you about the Kanjou Commission and Tenryou Commission?"

Qiu Bai asked Lumine and Paimon.

"I remember."

Paimon replied.

"Ayaka also mentioned that every time they submitted a document opposing the Vision Hunt Decree, the Tenryou Commission and Kanjou Commission would immediately reject it without discussion."

"The Tenryou Commission is working for the Fatui."

Qiu Bai added, nodding.

"I'm afraid the Kanjou Commission has also betrayed the Shogunate."

Qiu Bai continued.

"Oh?"

Yae Miko looked surprised.

"So you already know?"

"It's been quite obvious. Aside from the Yashiro Commission, the other two commissions are colluding with the Fatui."

She said, looking frustrated.

"Foolish humans, blinded by desire."

"I plan to... turn the Tenryou Commission."

Yae Miko said mysteriously, crossing her arms.

"Turn the Tenryou Commission?"

Paimon looked confused.

"But aren't they already rebelling?"

"She means to make someone betray the current Tenryou Commission."

Qiu Bai explained.

"And that person is Kujou Sara."

"Exactly."

Yae Miko nodded.

"By using Kujou Sara, we can surely bring you before the Raiden Shogun again."

"And it seems she's already standing behind you."

Yae Miko said, looking past Qiu Bai.

Lumine and Paimon turned around to see Kujou Sara and several Shogunate soldiers.

"Don't move! A wanted criminal daring to appear at the shrine!"

Kujou Sara declared authoritatively, arms crossed.

"Don't try anything. Come quietly to the Commission!"

The Shogunate soldiers began to approach with their weapons.

"Oh? Have you all forgotten?"

Yae Miko smiled.

"This is the Grand Narukami Shrine. Who will take responsibility for breaking the sanctity here?"

"Are you protecting these criminals, Yae Miko?"

Kujou Sara challenged.

"Just a friendly interaction."

Yae Miko responded.

"Why don't you have your troops stand down, and we can talk?"

After a moment, Kujou Sara dismissed her soldiers.

"So, Lady Yae, are you disrespecting the Shogun by harboring wanted criminals?"

She questioned.

"Qiu Bai we meet again."

Kujou Sara acknowledged.

"Hmm."

Qiu Bai responded.

"I admire your loyalty, but have you considered that your loyalty might be manipulated?"

"Manipulated?"

Kujou Sara frowned.

"What do you mean?"

"As a subordinate, one should be loyal to the Shogun."

She stated firmly.

"As a warrior, reaching the Shogun level is my life pursuit."

"What a true believer."

Qiu Bai muttered, his mouth twitching.

"Your loyalty is commendable, but what if your loyalty to the Raiden Shogun, is being used by the Tenryou Commission?"

He continued.

"What are you implying?!"

Kujou Sara challenged.

"The Tenryou Commission has always been loyal to the Shogun. How can you suggest otherwise?"
