Regina's mind snapped back to the present, and she quickly turned her head toward the man beside her. His chiseled features were as cold and indifferent as ever, his eyes holding a lazy glint.
"Uhh… awooo…"
The growls grew heavier, filled with a looming sense of violence.
Pete, clearly sensing the imminent danger, tried to flee. But in the darkness, he crashed into an iron bar, the sound of the impact seeming to enrage the beast in the shadows. A terrifying howl pierced the air, followed by a shrill, agonized scream.
"Ah—!" Pete screamed in pain, "You fucking beast, let me go!"
"Uhh… awooo…"
"Ah… ah… let go… ah…"
"Crash… thud…"
The noises continued to come from the TV, growing more and more brutal, mixed with the sound of flesh being torn apart. Each sound struck Regina's nerves like a hammer, her pupils dilating as she stared at the screen, trying to look past it, trying to understand what was happening in the dark…
