Chapter 48- hurt

"Lara..." Regina asked hesitantly, her voice trembling slightly. "I... I need to go outside... did... did he...?"

Regina's voice faltered, as if the night air itself had made her more sensitive, and there was a sense of danger lingering in the atmosphere. She hesitated, her words caught in her throat, but Lara paused for a moment before understanding what Regina meant. She gave a faint smile, shaking her head, and when handing Regina the cereal, her gaze briefly drifted to the pale moon outside the window, before she softly asked, "Are you afraid of Waldo?"

Regina pursed her lips, lowering her gaze. The moonlight filtered through the window, casting a pale glow on her tired face, as if marking it with untold secrets.

"Actually, Waldo isn't as ruthless as he seems," Lara said faintly, a fleeting, unreadable expression in her eyes. "About what happened yesterday, even though he was angry, he didn't say much…"
