Chapter 1 The Hogwarts Acceptance Letter

Since the end of World War II, the development of technology and the progress of civilization have reduced the number of orphans.

However, the orphanages that rely on this have lost more ways to obtain funds and can only barely maintain themselves by relying on government subsidies.

After delivering the milk, the sun gradually rose, and its light briefly pierced through the thick fog in London.

Moving slowly with the crowd, Light kept turning and managed to break away from the flow of people. Finally, he made his way to the dilapidated 'Wools Orphanage'.

As soon as he got to the door, voices could be heard: "Mr. Carr, Light is a really good and outstanding boy. Please don't be prejudiced against him, okay?"

"Mrs. Cott, I'm looking to adopt a child to inherit my business! An Asian? For me, it means nothing at all."

As the voice died down, a man wearing a top hat left in a rush, brushing past Light who was on his way back.

"Mrs. Cott, I'm back." Light's gentle call roused the old woman who was lost in regret.

"Ah! It's good that you're back. You must be tired, dear! Go and have your meal first!" The old woman looked at Light with kindness.

"Okay." Light replied.

"Light, I'm so sorry. The person who originally promised to adopt you seems to have heard some rumors and gave up the plan." Mrs. Cott sighed as she looked at Light who was eating bread.

"It doesn't matter. I really don't care about this. I already have a way out." Light didn't care at all.

"But in a while, you'll have to leave the orphanage and live on your own. It'll be really hard for a child to live alone." Mrs. Cott looked at Light with worry.

"It's okay, Mrs. Cott. I've awakened. I guess I'll receive a letter from a school soon." Light said calmly.

Mrs. Cott watched Light take a piece of bread and go upstairs, full of doubts. What awakening? What school?

Light made his way to a shabby, dim, and cramped room at the corner of the second floor.

Pushing open the door, what came into sight were six old wooden beds and a very large communal table. Both the wooden beds and the table carried a sense of age and wear.

Light sat down beside his bed, closed his eyes, sank his spirit into his mind, and slowly took on a human form.

A spiritual form emerged deep in his mind. It was slender, with delicate features, black hair, black eyes, and yellow skin, identical to the real boy.

Deep in his mind, a stone stele towered, inscribed with words that had never shown up before.

Light stood before the stone stele. He had no idea what was inscribed on it. But as long as he stood there, information would pop up.

Light Rogers (Zhou Yang)

Milestones: Soul from a Different World

Milestones: The Beginning of Fate

Milestones: Magical Awakening

Mileage Points: 3

Magic Power: 1 (The magic power value of an ordinary adult wizard is 5)

Spells: (None)

Skills: (None)

The stone stele can earn mileage points by fulfilling achievements, and these mileage points are used to level up the spells and magic power that have already been acquired.

Light withdrew his spirit from the depths of his mind.

He muttered to himself, "If I didn't happen to know that Voldemort had stayed at Wools Orphanage, and with the hints provided by the stone stele, I wouldn't even be sure that this was the world of 'Harry Potter'!"

"Fortunately, I do know. Otherwise, blindly adding Mileage Points to Magic Power and becoming an Obscurial would really spell the end for me."

Magic Power surged within his body. As he watched the bread in his hand slowly float up, his mind was filled with thoughts.

'In my previous life, I died from overwork and transmigrated. In this life, being able to witness the wonder of Spells, this can be regarded as a blessing in disguise.'

'But it should be coming soon. It's already the 10th of July.'

"Goo goo goo"

The sound from the window pulled Light back from his thoughts. When he heard the sound, he couldn't help but feel a rush of joy in his heart. He dispelled the Magic Power and walked towards the window, holding the bread in his hand.

A white owl was perched on the window ledge, with an envelope in its beak. It tilted its head and stared at Light through the glass.

Light let out a long sigh and carefully opened the window.

The owl flew in and dropped the envelope on the table.

Light calmed his excited mood. His right hand quickly picked up the envelope and held the bread in his left hand in front of the owl. It didn't stand on ceremony and started gobbling!

Picking up the letter, he noticed that the envelope was made of parchment. The address on the front, written in green ink, read: "Mr. Light Rogers, Wools Orphanage, London (Recipient)"

Turning the envelope over, he saw a red wax seal at the opening, with a crest impressed on it: a shield emblazoned with a lion, a snake, a badger, and an eagle that encircled the letter 'H'.

It's here, finally. Suppressing his excitement once more, he carefully opened the envelope. On the first page:

Light carefully finished reading the two sheets of parchment, and his heart was filled with excitement.

Looking at the owl that was still gnawing on the bread, he took out a pen and paper and began to write a reply.

In the tone of an eleven-year-old child, he expressed his hope of studying at Hogwarts and his desire to see amazing Spells.

Just as he finished writing the reply and put it into the envelope, the owl finished the bread and began to hoot cooing.

Seeing this, Light laughed, stroked the owl's furry head and said with a smile, "Please, Mr. Owl. Thank you."

Watching the owl fly away with the envelope in its beak, a stream of information came from the Milestone in his mind.
