Tony stared at Kai in shock, then turned his gaze to Steve. "Kai… is he…?"
Kai grinned. "Yep. Exactly who you're thinking of."
Tony couldn't stay seated anymore. He stood up, walked over to Steve, and studied him carefully, his eyes filled with disbelief.
Feeling uncomfortable under Tony's intense gaze, Steve turned to Kai. "Hey, Kai, what the hell is going on?"
Tony, still processing the situation, asked, "Kai, is this really Steve? Did you just find some guy who looks like him and bring him here?"
It was hard to believe—Captain America, missing for decades, sitting right in front of him.
Steve raised an eyebrow. "You know me?"
Kai chuckled. "Alright, let's do this properly. Tony, this is Steve Rogers. Yes, the Captain America."
Tony's mouth opened slightly, then he shook his head in disbelief.
"Oh my god, you're alive! Sorry, I mean—after all this time, you haven't aged a day!"
Steve looked at him with curiosity. "And you're Howard's son? Howard and I were old friends. He helped me a lot back in the day. I didn't expect his kid to be… well, this old."
One was amazed, the other nostalgic.
Yinsen, who had been quietly observing, finally spoke. "So, Tony's father and Steve were close friends… and given who Steve is, I think I finally understand why Tony is so surprised."
Tony, still adjusting to the situation, finally let out a breath. "Alright, this calls for a drink. Come on, let's sit down."
With that, he led everyone into the living room, poured drinks, and they began talking.
Kai noticed something interesting—because of their previous experiences together, Tony had already changed his view of his father. He had matured, lost some of the arrogance he once carried. That made his conversation with Steve go a lot smoother than Kai expected.
Laughter, stories, and drinks flowed freely.
Hours later, Pepper arrived home, only to find them drinking in the middle of the afternoon. She was about to scold Tony when he pulled her aside and quickly introduced her to Steve.
Pepper blinked. "Wait… Captain America? The Captain America?"
Tony smirked. "Yep. The real deal."
Pepper, after a brief pause, decided, "In that case, let's go out for dinner tonight. A proper welcome."
Tony agreed immediately, and the group moved to a nice restaurant for the evening.
By the end of the night, they exchanged contact information with Steve. Kai teleported him home before heading back himself.
It was only after returning that Kai suddenly smacked his forehead.
"Wait a second… Tony said he had a surprise for me today! And we completely forgot about it!"
As if on cue, his phone buzzed. It was a message from Tony.
[Come over tomorrow. Forgot to give you the surprise.]
Kai chuckled. "Figures."

The next day, Kai returned to Tony's villa, eager to see what had been prepared.
Tony led him down to the basement and gestured dramatically.
"Ta-da! Your surprise."
Standing before him was an unpainted battle suit, sleek and powerful, fresh off the workshop floor.
Kai's eyes widened. "Wait… you made me a suit?"
Tony grinned. "Yep. I wanted to give you one earlier, but then I got my hands on Uru metal, so I postponed it. Oh, and I made one for Yinsen too."
Kai walked around the suit, taking in every detail.
"So," Tony said, leaning against the table. "What color do you want? I'll paint it right now."
Kai thought for a moment. "Black. Definitely black."
Tony raised an eyebrow. "Black? I figured you'd go for something flashier to match my style."
"Not a chance," Kai laughed.
Tony shrugged, then pressed a few buttons on the computer. Several nozzles rose from the floor and began coating the suit in a sleek, matte black finish. Within moments, the transformation was complete.
Kai stepped forward, running his fingers along the metal. It looked incredible.
Sure, he could teleport and levitate with magic, but there was just something special about having an Iron Man suit.
Tony smirked, seeing Kai's fascination. "Go on, try it on."
Kai didn't need to be told twice. The suit's mechanical arms extended, quickly assembling itself around him.
As the helmet locked into place, an AI voice activated, calibrating the system.
Kai took a few steps, testing the movement. Smooth, comfortable, and surprisingly natural.
Tony nodded approvingly. "I optimized the fit and added a simple control system. It'll be easy for you to master."
Kai activated the flight stabilizers, hovering slightly before testing the repulsors and various other functions. Everything worked flawlessly.
After a full test run, he stepped out of the suit and turned to Tony.
"So? What do you think?" Tony asked.
Kai grinned. "I love it. Thanks, Tony."
Tony waved him off. "Take it back to the manor. Use it whenever you want. The new reactor inside should last you a long time."
Kai was touched—Tony really went all out for his friends.
Just then, Yinsen walked in.
"Oh, Kai, so Tony called you over for your suit too?"
Kai turned to him. "Yeah, he forgot about it yesterday, so I came by today. I love it. He mentioned you got one too. Where is it? Let me see!"
At that, Yinsen's face turned slightly pale.
Kai frowned. "What's with that look?"
Tony smirked.
Kai was about to ask again when Yinsen sighed, reluctantly heading to the storage area.
And the moment Kai saw Yinsen's battle suit… he immediately understood why Yinsen didn't want to show it.
