Sharing Plan With Fury

----------

Kai didn't care about Nick Fury's thoughts and spoke bluntly in front of Steve, making it clear that even in minor matters, Nick Fury had been lying to him. This only reinforced how long Fury had been deceiving Steve.

Steve immediately understood that Kai's words were directed at him, and he glanced at Kai, nodding in silent gratitude. Seeing that Steve got the message, Kai dropped the subject. As for Nick Fury's glare, Kai simply ignored it.

After a few moments, Nick Fury realized he had no real way to counter Kai. Instead, he turned to Steve, hoping to explain himself, at least to salvage their relationship. But when he saw the look on Steve's face—a mix of relief and resignation—Nick Fury knew it was pointless. Steve was truly ready to give up on S.H.I.E.L.D. under Fury's leadership.

Nick Fury's expression darkened, his face like a storm cloud.

Satisfied that Nick Fury had absorbed the situation, Steve turned to open the door, intending to let Kate and the others in. They had been waiting long enough, and it would be unfair to keep them outside any longer.

However, before Steve could turn the handle, Kai quickly intervened. "Steve, wait a moment."

Steve paused, his hand still on the door, then looked back at Kai, curious about the interruption.

"I think since Nick Fury is awake, we should just tell him what we discussed now. There's no one else here, so it's the perfect time."

Kai's words made sense. Once they put their plan into action, Steve would be too busy taking down Hydra to explain things to Fury later.

Lowering his hand from the door, Steve turned to face Nick Fury.

Nick Fury, still trying to piece everything together, was baffled by their exchange. His mind raced—what were they up to? Something must have happened while he was unconscious.

As he tried to make sense of it, Steve spoke up. "Nick, I need you to hear me out before you say anything."

That confirmed it—something big had gone down while he was out. He didn't interrupt, just watched Steve closely, waiting for the explanation.

Steve glanced at Kai, who gave a slight nod. Taking a deep breath, Steve began recounting everything Kai had shown him while Fury was unconscious.

Kai remained quiet, using his mental abilities to gauge Fury's reactions. He already knew Fury wasn't a Hydra agent, but it never hurt to double-check. What if this world was different from the one in the movies?

As Steve mentioned Hydra, Fury's initial reaction was shock. When he heard that Hydra had infiltrated every level of S.H.I.E.L.D., his expression twisted into anger. But when Steve revealed that Alexander Pierce was Hydra's top operative within S.H.I.E.L.D., Fury's skepticism flared. It wasn't until Steve presented hard evidence—irrefutable proof—that Fury's resistance cracked, and he reluctantly accepted the truth.

His disbelief turned to fury at the betrayal of someone he trusted. But soon, realization dawned, and Kai saw the shift in his expression. Nick Fury had finally grasped why he had been attacked.

Steve gave him a moment to process everything, then continued with the plan he and Kai had formulated.

Fury knew Steve wasn't lying. The evidence spoke for itself, and if anyone hated Hydra more than he did, it was Steve Rogers.

Compared to Steve, who had personally fought Hydra in the past, Fury figured he had probably taken the news better.

After a long silence, Fury finally looked at the two men. "Alright, I get it. So why are you telling me all this?"

Kai and Steve exchanged glances before Kai answered. "Because we have a decision to make."

"Steve and I both believe that under your leadership, S.H.I.E.L.D. allowed Hydra to grow unchecked. As director, you bear primary responsibility."

Fury's eyebrow twitched. "Oh? And if I'm not fit to lead, who do you suggest?"

Kai smirked. "I'm not here to debate with you, Nick. I'm informing you. This isn't up for discussion."

Fury's expression darkened further, but Kai didn't care. "And as for your replacement—you don't need to worry about that."

Then, just as Kai was about to continue outlining their next steps for S.H.I.E.L.D., he suddenly stopped. A thought struck him—Nick Fury was no longer director, so there was no need to share the details with him.

Nick Fury frowned. "What? What were you about to say?"

Kai shrugged. "Oh, nothing important. It just occurred to me that since you're no longer the director, there's no reason to tell you what happens next. You don't need to know."
