The tightly sealed shell slowly opened, revealing a large summoning contract scroll inside, about a meter wide.
"How dare you! That's the Hozuki Clan's summoning beast! You can't—!"
Trapped within his own consciousness, Fuzuki's soul trembled with rage as he watched Shinno retrieve the contract scroll.
"You talk too much."
Shinno fused his chakra with his mental energy, forming an overwhelming Yin Release force, and struck Fuzuki's soul.
Already weakened, Fuzuki's spiritual energy took another heavy blow.
The pain pierced deep into his soul, causing him to curl up, letting out weak, pained moans.
Meanwhile, Shinno's original body took the contract scroll from his possessed self.
Unrolling it, he saw Hozuki Gengetsu's name at the top, followed by over a dozen others. He sighed in exasperation.
It was clear that the Hozuki Clan had desperately tried to cultivate a successor to inherit Gengetsu's techniques.
But despite attempting this over ten times, they had failed each time.
"Well, might as well be thorough. I don't want some Edo Tensei resurrection messing with my plans."
Shinno retrieved a blood storage vial from his Jonin vest, dipped a finger into his own blood, and signed his name at the bottom of the scroll.
As he felt the contract take effect, he nodded in satisfaction.
Forming a one-handed seal, he channeled intricate sealing patterns into his palm.

Placing his hand on the scroll over Hozuki Gengetsu's name, he activated the technique.
The sealing formula spread rapidly, invading the depths of the contract and severing Gengetsu's bond with the Mirage Clam.
The once-bright red ink of Gengetsu's name darkened, turning black as it lost its power.
Shinno wasted no time, repeating the process with every name on the list.

After a dozen consecutive Contract Seals, the last name—Hozuki Fuzuki's—was erased.
The summoned black clam vanished in a puff of smoke.
Looking at the contract scroll, now bearing only his own vibrant red signature, Shinno pondered for a moment.
He summoned the Mirage Clam again and returned the contract to its shell.
According to Fuzuki's memories, the Mirage Clam clan resided in an uncharted sea, far beyond the reach of the ninja world.
Hozuki Gengetsu had only managed to form a contract with them because he had done something as reckless as Jiraiya—blindly using the Summoning Jutsu without an existing contract.
The difference was…
Jiraiya had been transported to Mount Myoboku.
While a young Hozuki Gengetsu, with his immense chakra reserves, had instead summoned the ancestor of the Mirage Clams.
