Pokémon: Breeding Simulator [13]

[Due to Giovanni losing his composure too soon, you were promptly "escorted" out of the Silph Co. building as soon as you obtained the information on capturing Celebi.]

"Elias, what did you two talk about?" Kirlia asked, feigning nonchalance.

She was in a terrible mood.

Even though she had eavesdropped on the entire conversation, she had missed the most important part!

She desperately wanted to know Elias's answer to Giovanni's final question.

Of course, knowing Elias as well as she did, she was certain he would never abandon her.

But… what if?

What if, somewhere out there, there was another Shiny Kirlia? One just as beautiful, just as affectionate, just as good at keeping him warm at night—waiting to take her place?

Since the day Elias had picked her up, Kirlia had never felt this anxious before.

"I needed Team Rocket's information on a certain Pokémon. In exchange, I agreed to help Giovanni catch a Pokémon he wanted. That's all we talked about," Elias said, omitting anything related to her condition.

"That's it?" Kirlia pressed, dissatisfied. She already knew that much.

Elias pondered for a moment, then reached out and gently pinched her soft cheek with a smile.

"That's it. Why?"

"Mm…" Kirlia deflated a little. But when she met Elias's gaze, filled with warmth and affection, she realized she had been overthinking it.

"It's nothing."

Of course, Elias would never abandon me.

[Age 15: Another New Year's Eve. Six years had passed, and once again, Kirlia chose to give you her evolution as a gift.]

"This will be the last time I can give you a present like this. You'd better cherish it," she said.

Her voice, once youthful and sweet, had gained a mature, cool elegance.

If Ralts was a child and Kirlia was a young girl, then Gardevoir was undoubtedly a graceful and noble woman.

As Elias looked at his now nearly eye-level Gardevoir, his eyes softened with pride. He smiled and said,

"I'll remember this moment forever."

One advantage of being a Psychic was that memories could be preserved permanently with psychic energy.

So, when he said this, he meant it literally.

Then, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a pendant. Its border was shaped like a flower, with a round gemstone embedded in the center. He dangled it in front of Gardevoir.

"But… this year, you might be able to give me two gifts."

Gardevoir's large, expressive eyes followed the pendant as it swayed. She could sense a strange energy emanating from it—one that was deeply alluring.

"What is this?" she asked curiously.

"A [Mega Evolution Keystone]," Elias replied as he fastened the pendant around her neck.

"This is a special mineral newly discovered in the Kalos region. It allows fully evolved Pokémon to evolve again. And this one is meant just for you."

Elias had Lance to thank for acquiring this stone.

As the heir of the Dragon Clan, Lance had strong ties with Kalos, and it was through him that Elias had been able to get his hands on it.

"Another evolution?" Gardevoir's eyes sparkled.

Most Pokémon enjoyed the process of evolving, and she was no exception.

Without hesitation, Gardevoir placed her pale hands over the gemstone and reached out with her psychic energy to connect with the power inside.

In an instant, a prismatic glow burst forth from the stone, shooting through her hands and forming a link with the [Keystone] on Elias's chest.

"Garde…?"

Caught off guard, Gardevoir turned to Elias in confusion.

"[Keystones] come in pairs," he explained.

"One is worn by the Pokémon, the other by the trainer. Only by linking the two can [Mega Evolution] be triggered."

Hearing this, Gardevoir nodded, somewhat understanding.

At the same time, the brilliant light fully enveloped her.

When the light faded, Gardevoir's once-white gown had transformed into a pitch-black princess dress.

Her height had increased yet again, nearly matching Elias's.

Compared to moments ago, she now exuded the aura of a regal queen.

"Garde~"

A smooth, velvety voice escaped her lips.

She glanced down at herself, her eyes gleaming with delight.

Clearly, she was more than satisfied with her new form.

And it wasn't just her appearance…

Curious, Gardevoir extended a hand and released a burst of psychic energy—directly aimed at Elias.

Elias, who had been admiring her new look, felt his expression stiffen.

Realizing what was happening, he immediately gathered his own psychic energy, trying to evade the attack.

However, Gardevoir's power had skyrocketed with [Mega Evolution].

She had no intention of letting him escape.

With a simple motion of her gloved hand, a massive psychic force gripped Elias midair.

He couldn't move a muscle.

"Kehe~"

Gardevoir covered her mouth and giggled triumphantly.

All these years, she had been the one getting effortlessly overpowered.

This was the first time she had turned the tables.

"Gardevoir, put me down," Elias demanded, his face darkening.

He had underestimated how much stronger she had gotten.

With her current strength, if she were to battle Giovanni's Persian again, she could probably win without him even needing to burn stamina.

But now that she had become a queen, Gardevoir wasn't as obedient as when she was just a Kirlia.

She looked down at her newfound power, her eyes narrowing playfully.

With a flick of her hand, Elias was helplessly thrown onto the grass.

As she slowly, deliberately walked toward him, he swallowed nervously.

For the first time, he realized… he might have spoiled her a little too much.

What kind of Pokémon gains power and immediately throws their trainer to the ground?!

As Gardevoir drew closer—so close that he could smell the floral fragrance on her—

A sharp voice suddenly cut through the air.

"Alakazam, [Psycho Cut]!"

A series of invisible psychic blades slashed toward Gardevoir.

But due to the gap in power, they were effortlessly crushed midair before they could even reach her.

Gardevoir turned toward the interruption and frowned in irritation.

This annoying woman again.

Sure enough, the one who had given the command was Sabrina.

Seeing her attack blocked, Sabrina's anger flared. She stormed up to Gardevoir, her glare practically burning with fury.

"I knew you were up to no good," she growled through clenched teeth.

The way Gardevoir had just moved… She didn't even want to imagine what would have happened if she hadn't arrived in time.

"Garde~"

Gardevoir turned her head away, utterly unbothered.

She refused to believe this woman could actually stick to Elias 24/7.

Besides, she had observed carefully—Elias's words said "let me go," but his eyes had clearly lit up with excitement.
