"Mom, do you think there are Pokémon that can take on human form and blend into society?"
During dinner, Elias suddenly posed the question.
Latias, who had been fully immersed in enjoying her meal, jerked her hand in shock. She quickly lifted her head, searching Elias's face for any sign of suspicion.
Only after confirming that he was simply indulging his usual curiosity did she quietly exhale in relief.
"T-There shouldn't be," Latias replied, making an effort to keep her voice steady.
"A Pokémon is a Pokémon—how could one turn into a human?"
"Is that so?"
Elias neither confirmed nor denied her response, merely nodding while keeping his focus on the notebook in his hands.
For a moment, the dining table fell into silence.
Latias' heart pounded violently in her chest. She had no idea why Elias had suddenly brought up such a topic.
Was it just idle curiosity?
Or had he... sensed something?
The contemplative look on his face only made her more uneasy. She was growing increasingly desperate to know what exactly was written in that notebook.
"W-Why do you ask?"
After enduring the silence as long as she could, Latias finally spoke, her voice slightly trembling.
As soon as the words left her lips, she felt as if her heart had leaped into her throat.
"Hm?"
Hearing Tias' question, Elias was briefly startled before flashing her a gentle smile.
"I was just curious. If there were such Pokémon, I'd really love to have one."
With that, he took a bite of his food and casually closed the notebook.
Seeing this, Latias let out another quiet sigh of relief.
But what really caught her attention was Elias's last sentence…
"You'd really love to have one?"
That was perhaps the most reassuring thing she had ever heard.
At last, the anxiety weighing on her heart began to ease.

[That same year, your skills as a breeder improved rapidly, and you discovered that Tias preferred sweet-and-sour Pokéblocks.]
[Acquired Item: Latias' Favorite Recipe ×1]
[At age 8, you heard some troubling news—poachers had been spotted near Rustboro City.]
[In response, your school implemented a late start and early dismissal policy. Many students celebrated, but you couldn't shake a sense of unease.]
[On the bright side, your newly evolved Milotic had displayed remarkable talent and strength. Aside from her habit of wrapping around you and smothering you affectionately, she had become a reliable team member.]
[The only downside was that, for some reason, Milotic and Tias were no longer on good terms.]
"Go back into your Pokéball. Elias is sleeping with me tonight."
Latias gritted her teeth as she glared at Milotic, who was blocking the doorway.
Ever since she had seen Latias feeding Elias, Milotic had completely lost the respect she once had for her. Instead, she had taken every opportunity to interfere with her alone time with Elias.
Latias deeply regretted not having thrown this meddlesome fish into a frying pan when she was still a Feebas.
Predictably, Milotic remained unmoved by her demand.
She continued to stare at Latias with her large, watery eyes, filled with stubborn determination.
Initially, she had believed that Latias, as Elias's "mother," was also her half-owner. Because of this, she had been willing to defer to her.
That was until she had closely observed how Latias and Elias interacted in their daily lives...
She might not have fully understood human emotions, but even she could tell—Latias' behavior was definitely not that of a normal mother.
She was up to something.
Milotic felt an overwhelming sense of betrayal. She needed to reclaim her trainer.
She had to keep Elias from falling into the clutches of this weirdo!
"Miu~"
With that thought in mind, Milotic let out a sharp cry, her scales rising slightly—a display both beautiful and threatening.
However, in Latias' eyes, this newly evolved water snake posed absolutely no threat.
She scoffed, looking down at Milotic with disdain.
If Milotic dared to make a move, she swore she would tie her up and force her to watch as she and Elias slept peacefully together.
The tension in the air grew thick.
But just before things could escalate, a gentle psychic force separated the two Pokémon.
Both Latias and Milotic found their battle stances disrupted.
Elias stepped out of his room, looking at the scene before him with mild exasperation.
"Milotic, go back into your Pokéball. I'll take you out for training first thing in the morning."
Understanding Milotic's clingy nature, Elias spoke in a soothing tone.
It wasn't that he didn't want Milotic to sleep with him…
It was just that her scales were far too cold. Sleeping with her was no different from sleeping without a blanket—he'd definitely wake up with a cold the next day.
Not to mention, Milotic's body was quite long. There simply wasn't enough space on the bed to fit her.
The only way she could manage was by coiling around him—which made Elias worry he might end up suffocated in his sleep.
Hearing Elias's words, Milotic drooped her head in disappointment.
She knew it wasn't Elias's fault—it was just how her body was.
Meanwhile, Latias' expression brightened visibly.
As expected, Elias still favored her.
That water snake was delusional if she thought she could win.

[Thanks to your mediation, the night ended with Milotic conceding. But you knew that the same struggle would repeat itself tomorrow.]
[It was starting to give you a headache.]
[On a more pressing note, you had finally gathered information about the poachers near Rustboro City.]
[You learned that they were part of a professional hunting squad under the notorious Sinnoh-based poacher, Hunter J. These were experienced criminals equipped with advanced hunting tools.]
[This made you increasingly uneasy. To prepare for any potential dangers, you set up precautions throughout the surrounding forest.]
[At the same time, you subtly warned Latias as well.]
Inside the bedroom, nestled on the soft double bed—
Elias relaxed into Tias' warm embrace, his body comfortably sinking against her.
Latias wasn't asleep.
In the darkness, her large eyes remained open, staring at Elias in her arms.
At first, she had only regarded him as a soft and squishy living pillow.
But at some point, holding him had begun to fill her with an inexplicable sense of security.
Perhaps sensing that she was still awake, Elias gently clasped the hand that was wrapped around him and suddenly spoke:
"Mom, if you need anything, just make a list and give it to me—I'll do the shopping for you. You shouldn't go outside for now."
After much consideration, Elias finally voiced his warning.
"Why?"
Latias, who had been lost in thought, blinked in confusion at his words.
