"Brother?"
"Latios?"
Now that Elias knew about Latias's true species, it was only natural that he also knew she had an older brother.
Hearing that this mysterious 'uncle' wanted to meet him, Elias couldn't help but feel curious.
Sensing that Elias might be nervous, Latias set down the bowl of porridge and gently rubbed his back, offering a soft reassurance:
"Brother may be a bit stubborn, but he's actually very gentle."
"You don't have to be scared! If he bullies you, I'll help you beat him up!"
To reinforce her words, she even clenched her tiny fists, puffing herself up in an attempt to look intimidating.
Elias chuckled, amused by her reaction.
Thanks to her efforts, the faint trace of unease he had felt vanished completely.
"Don't worry, I'm sure we'll get along just fine."
He reached out and held her delicate hand, his voice gentle and reassuring.
Latias had already told him everything—
From finding him as an infant, to raising him on the island, to watching him return to human society.
Through her story, he also learned how Latios had opposed the idea at first—
Only to eventually give in.
For Elias, this uncle, who had allowed his sister to risk her life for a human child, had already earned his respect.
If their roles were reversed, he would never have agreed to it.
Surely, he and Latios would have a lot in common.
On the other side, seeing that Elias wasn't resistant to the idea, Latias let out a small sigh of relief.
...
A little while ago…
After nervously confessing everything to her brother over the phone, Latias had braced herself for the worst.
She was certain that Latios would demand she come home immediately.
She had even prepared herself to fight him to the death if he tried to force her—
Or, at the very least, she had been ready to grab Elias and flee to another region.
But…
To her shock, Latios didn't react with anger.
Instead, he had fallen into a deep silence—so quiet it was almost terrifying.
Just as Latias was about to hang up out of sheer panic, Latios finally spoke.
His words were simple—
"Find a time for me to meet him."
She could choose the time and place.
She had no idea what her brother had been thinking in those long, tense moments of silence—
But she saw this as an opportunity.
Latios had always been wary of Elias.
Always skeptical.
Always testing him.
It infuriated her sometimes.
But this whole incident—
Had completely shattered his doubts.
If not for Elias, she might have already been locked away in some underground black market cage.
Just the thought of that sent a shiver down her spine.
Lost in thought, she suddenly reached out, eager to hold Elias's hand again.
"Elias, let's sleep."
Before he could react—
Latias had already snuggled into his arms.
Only when she was holding him did she feel truly safe.
Elias's thoughts momentarily froze.
Then, looking at the small, curled-up figure in his arms, his lips curved into a gentle smile.
Ever since her identity was fully exposed, Tis had become increasingly clingy—sometimes sticking to him all day long.
To Elias, this was a good sign.

[The poachers and Latias's hidden past—two problems that have troubled you for years—have both been resolved on the same day.]
[Your mind feels more relaxed than ever. But despite your relief, the image of the poacher's final moments keeps replaying in your head.]
[It doesn't frighten you—but it does make you wonder… will there be more poachers coming for Tis in the future?]
[Every time you consider this possibility, frustration gnaws at you. But no matter how much you think about it, you can't find a solution.]
[The only thing you can do… is become stronger. To shelter Latias under your own wings.]
[Besides that, you've also used your own methods to gather some… additional information.]
A Dark, Underground Chamber—
"Please… please let me go! I've told you everything! Just let me die in peace!"
A hoarse, broken scream echoed through the room.
The voice belonged to a floating, ghostly figure—
Upon closer inspection…
It was the poacher who had died several days ago.
Elias watched expressionlessly.
Yes—this man had indeed died.
But the reason he was still here was because of one of Elias's unique abilities.
Ever since he was a child, Elias had discovered something strange about himself—
Any life he personally took had a chance of turning into a ghostly spirit that lingered around him.
These spirits had no physical form—
And only he could see or hear them.
For years, he had kept this ability a secret.
After all, even if he told someone, who would actually believe him?
For the most part, it had been useless—
Nothing more than a curse, forcing him to endure the vengeful wails of the dead.
But not long ago, he had discovered…
A new use for it.
Interrogation.
These ghosts required his life force to sustain their existence.
By manipulating the flow of energy, he could trap them in a state of near-death—
Where they would constantly fade in and out of existence—
A state of endless suffering, forcing them to confess everything.
Using this method, he had effortlessly extracted key intel on Hunter J.
And now—
Having drained the last bit of useful information from this poacher—
Elias calmly closed his notebook.
"Can I finally die now…?"
The tortured ghost stared at him, hollow eyes filled with pleading desperation.
Clearly, death was the only mercy left.
Elias waved his hand.
In an instant—
The flow of life force was cut off.
A suffocating sensation gripped the ghost—
And moments later, its form flickered, growing dimmer and dimmer—
Until it vanished completely, like a reflection on water disappearing into ripples.
Elias watched, expressionless.
He felt nothing.
But his mind was already forming a new idea.
Since the density of the ghost depended on how much life force he supplied—
Then, theoretically…
If he poured enough energy into it, couldn't the spirit fully manifest?
Could he create something akin to a Ghost-type Pokémon—
A specter that even others could see?

[You silently record this idea in your mind. You begin experimenting with your psychic abilities, seeking ways to further develop your skills.]
[Meanwhile, your injuries continue to heal rapidly.]
[Time passes day by day…]
[And soon, the day of your meeting with Latios arrives.]
