I thought Carter would have given up by now, but to my surprise, he was waiting outside the police station when I got off work.

He grabbed my arm, "Dr. Carlisle, give me a chance. I want to explain."

I wanted to calmly reply with just one word: "Scram."

Carter pulled me to an empty lot nearby. "Dr. Carlisle, you know everything about Ethan now."

"Honey did me a favor. Ethan's life was just to repay that debt."

"We can have many more children in the future. Why not let Ethan become a comma in the past, ending one chapter? Isn't that okay?"

"I have feelings for you. Can't we just be together?"

I stared at him coldly. The Ethan I carried for ten months was just a trivial comma to him? How could he be so shameless?

"If it was your debt, you should have repaid it yourself."

"What did my Ethan do wrong?"
