Eyes on Us

The moment Felix and Lisa stepped into the grand ballroom, all eyes turned to them.

Wealthy businessmen, socialites, and industry leaders whispered among themselves as Felix guided Lisa through the crowd.

Lisa could feel their gazes—curious, skeptical, some even envious.

"What am I doing here?" she thought.

But then, Felix tightened his grip on her hand, grounding her.

"You're fine," he murmured, his voice low but firm.

Lisa took a deep breath.

"Right. Just an act. Just one night."

She forced a smile and clung to Felix's arm like a perfect date would.

The first hour passed in a blur.

Felix introduced Lisa to several powerful people, all of whom seemed shocked that he brought someone.

"So, Felix," one investor smirked. "You've finally found time for romance?"

Felix's expression remained unreadable. "Lisa is special."

Lisa nearly choked on her drink. Special?!

But she kept her cool and smiled sweetly. "Felix just has high standards. Lucky for him, I exceed them."

The investor laughed, clearly entertained.

Felix glanced at Lisa with an unreadable expression.

But there was something in his eyes—something close to approval.

Everything was going smoothly…

Until she arrived.

A tall, elegant woman in a silver gown strode toward them, her sharp eyes locked onto Felix.

Lisa could instantly tell—this woman knew Felix well.

"Felix," she said smoothly, a smirk playing on her lips.

Felix's expression didn't change. "Julianna."

Lisa frowned. Who is she?

Julianna's gaze flickered to Lisa, her smirk widening. "And who is this?"

Felix's grip on Lisa's waist tightened.

"This is Lisa," he said coolly. "My girlfriend."

Lisa nodded politely, but something about Julianna's expression made her uneasy.

Julianna chuckled. "Girlfriend? That's new."

Felix's jaw tightened, but before he could respond, Lisa spoke up.

"It's not that new," Lisa said smoothly. "You just weren't important enough to know."

Felix stiffened.

Julianna's smirk faltered for a split second.

Lisa smiled sweetly. "Felix, shouldn't we go? We have people to meet."

Felix's lips curved slightly. "Yes, we should."

Without another word, he led Lisa away.

As they walked, Lisa exhaled.

Felix glanced at her. "That was impressive."

Lisa smirked. "I told you—I exceed expectations."

Felix let out a rare chuckle.

Lisa's heart skipped.

Was it just her, or was he actually enjoying this?
