Lisa spent the entire day trying to push Leo's words out of her head.
"Felix doesn't 'date' people. Ever. So why you?"
It was just a business deal.
Just one night.
So why did it feel like something more?
Lisa had just finished dinner when her phone rang.
Felix.
She frowned. It was already 11 PM. Why was he calling so late?
She answered. "What do you want?"
Felix's voice was calm but firm. "Be ready by 6 PM tomorrow. I'll pick you up."
Lisa sighed. "Yeah, yeah. I know."
There was a pause.
Then Felix said, "Don't overthink it, Lisa."
Lisa blinked. "Huh?"
Felix's tone didn't change. "You've been acting weird all day."
Lisa frowned. How does he notice these things?
She hesitated, then said, "Leo told me something."
Felix went silent.
Lisa continued, "He said you don't 'date' people. Ever. So why me?"
Felix's voice was cold. "Leo talks too much."
Lisa crossed her arms. "That's not an answer."
Felix exhaled. "You were convenient."
Lisa's heart sank.
"Convenient?" she repeated.
Felix's tone remained indifferent. "You're new. You don't have company rumors following you. You're good at pretending. And—" He paused.
Lisa waited. "And what?"
Felix's voice dropped slightly. "And you're not annoying."
Lisa's lips twitched. "That sounded like a compliment."
Felix scoffed. "Don't get used to it."
Lisa sighed. "Fine. See you tomorrow."
Felix didn't say goodbye. He just hung up.
Lisa stared at her phone, feeling even more confused than before.
Felix tossed his phone onto his desk, his expression unreadable.
He knew Lisa wouldn't drop the question.
But how was he supposed to tell her?
That she wasn't just convenient.
That he picked her because…
She was the only one who made him feel like a person—not just a CEO.
Felix closed his eyes.
He couldn't tell her that.
Not yet.
Maybe not ever.
