More Than Just Business?

Lisa couldn't stop thinking about Leo's words.

"You think Felix is helping you out of kindness?"

What did that even mean?

Of course, Felix wasn't kind—he was cold, distant, and only did things when they benefited him.

But for some reason, Leo made it sound like there was more to it.

Lisa shook her head. Focus. It's just a fake date. Nothing else.

Or at least, that's what she told herself.

Felix wasn't joking when he said Lisa would wear designer clothes.

The next day, she was dragged to an exclusive boutique where a stylist handed her an entire rack of expensive dresses.

Lisa's jaw dropped. "This looks crazy expensive."

Felix smirked. "It is."

Lisa turned to him. "You're seriously spending this much money for a fake date?"

Felix shrugged. "You need to look the part."

Lisa sighed and picked up a silky red dress. "This one looks nice."

Felix glanced at it. "No."

Lisa raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean 'no'?"

Felix grabbed a sleek black dress with elegant silver embroidery. "Wear this."

Lisa scoffed. "Why do you get to pick?"

Felix smirked. "Because I'm paying."

Lisa rolled her eyes but took the dress.

When she walked out of the fitting room, Felix's usual smirk faded.

His eyes swept over her, and for a split second, his expression was unreadable.

Lisa shifted awkwardly. "Well? Does it look okay?"

Felix blinked, his face returning to its usual cold mask.

"It'll do."

Lisa narrowed her eyes. Was that a compliment?

She decided to let it go. "Alright, let's get this over with."

Felix handed his black card to the cashier.

Lisa hesitated. "Seriously, this is too expensive. I can just wear something from my closet—"

Felix cut her off. "I don't do 'cheap.'"

Lisa huffed. "You're impossible."

Felix smirked. "And yet, you're still here."

Lisa didn't respond.

Because, honestly, she had no idea why she was still playing along with this.

As they left the store, Lisa noticed something strange.

Felix was carrying the shopping bags.

She blinked. "Wait… you're actually holding my stuff?"

Felix frowned. "You think I'd make you carry them?"

Lisa crossed her arms. "I don't know. You seem like the type."

Felix scoffed. "I may be rude, but I'm not that heartless."

Lisa stared at him.

For the first time, he actually sounded normal.

Not cold. Not distant. Just… normal.

Lisa smiled. "Wow. You do have some basic human decency."

Felix rolled his eyes. "Don't make me regret it."

Lisa just laughed.

For once, he didn't seem like the intimidating CEO.

For once, he just seemed like a regular guy.

And that scared her.

Because she was starting to forget—

This was all fake.

Lisa returned to the office that afternoon, only to find Leo waiting for her.

He leaned against her desk, smirking. "So, you're really going through with this 'fake girlfriend' thing?"

Lisa sighed. "Why do you care?"

Leo tilted his head. "Because Felix isn't the type to do things without a reason."

Lisa frowned. "It's for a business deal. That's the reason."

Leo chuckled. "You really believe that?"

Lisa hesitated.

Leo leaned in closer. "Just be careful, Lisa. Felix doesn't 'date' people. Ever. So if he suddenly needs you to be his fake girlfriend, you should be asking why."

Lisa's stomach twisted.

Because deep down, she already had the same question.
